I also said this 'The Heil Hitler was clearly worship.' I think Heiling Hitler is worse than holding a Party Card, but I want to point out that this is still just a symbol, and did not necesarilly mean that EVERY person doing it worshipped Hitler. (Although many basically did, but that's going off the point.)

Thirdwitness, saying Heil Hitler was clearly worship. It is NOT the same as holding a Party card.

Why did you ignore the rest of my post?

As I pointed out, many applications for UN/DPI association are rejected. Therefore, the UN/DPI must see association with them as MORE than registering for a library card. They MUST only want associates who they believe can be of benefit to spreading their ideals. In order to get association as an NGO with the UN/DPI, the Society must have had to convince the UN/DPI their association would be of benefit to them, and they did this by showing them articles that spoke of the UN ideals.

Was convincing the UN/DPI that they supported them wrong? If not, what is wrong with convincing a Party that you support them?

Thirdwitness - Can I also ask why Witnesses in Mexico were not allowed to pray at or sing Kingdom songs at meetings, or use the bible in preaching work, at the same time Jehovah's Witnesses in Malawi were being sent to prison or killed for refusing to buy a party card?

Thanks for your response Thirdwitness, I do appreciate it. I have some problems though, and I would again be appreciative if you could address them.

I can’t see why it should really matter that much if someone in Malawi had a card saying they supported the party? It doesn’t mean they actually support the party, you support the party if you vote for them, they never had to vote for them. I’m on the voting register, I’m eligible to vote, I’ve never voted though, as it doesn’t mean I have to vote, but credit card and loan companies may look at the voting register to help them decide whether or not they want to give you loans or cards, so it’s useful to be on there, and the Society don’t say that you can’t do this, I asked an elder if it was ok, and he said it was fine. In some countries you have enforced voting. The Society doesn’t tell you to go to prison and refuse to go to polling stations, they let you go to the polling stations, but ask that you don’t actually vote, just spoil the ballet or something, so why was a Party Card so bad?

A Party Card may have convinced the Party that they showed support for them, but it didn’t necessarily mean that the individual carrying the card supported them, as they didn’t vote for them. Similarly, the Society had to submit articles to the UN that had to convince them that they supported them. Even if this did not necessarily mean that did support the UN as you believe it didn’t, surely you can agree the purpose was to convince the UN that they supported them?

Do you realise that some Organisations have had applications to become DPI associates rejected? This isn’t a recent thing, this has been happening since 1991/2 when the Society joined. Why do you think they were rejected? There MUST be a reason. The UN/DPI aren’t just going to be picking the names out of a hat, if they are rejecting Organisations, it would seem like they would only want associates who they believe are going to be of benefit to them. So, surely the articles the Watchtower Society provided the UN/DPI with, convinced them that the Watchtower Society would help them to spread information about their charter, and thus be a support to them?

Do you disagree? If so, why?

i am so sick of this woman, and her fame for simply being born into a rich family.

i am just waiting for the day that we get to see her name in the obituary and not on the front of some magazine to say what a great thing she has done, when she found a lost dog.

i actually like the movie, "house of wax", as it does allow you to see some damage done to this woman.

It wouldn't surprise me... if they can disfellowship you for smoking, why not obesity? They could easily apply the same principles.

The United Nations seem quite a friendly bunch to me. What makes them so disgusting? Why would Jehovah hate an Organisation set up purely to help people?

And NO WAY do they have the power to ban world religion...

As I'm sure you know, the Society always use this scripture as proof that the bible teaches that those who die have no mind at all. However, I have looked up this scripture in other translations, and can't find any translations which state that the dead are conscious of nothing. So, my question is, is this a mistranslation used by the Society to prove their teaching? Is that what the original writer (Solomon?) wanted to say?
