Without the reward of heaven or the threat of hell, or the reward of Paradise I don't think anyone would serve god. Satan was right, nobody would serve god without the long term benefits. In fact they'd most likely get involved in demonism, since that's the only thing that can show results in your life.
For the record I don't believe in god or demons.

I don't believe in the bible at all. And have not seen any reason to believe in god at all. So the answer is a definate no to both.

I have found no reason to believe in god, so therefore I am an atheist. If something convicing comes up I'm willing to change my mind but I'm completely convinced that god does not exist.
I am quite happy with that! I'm 17 and have plenty of life left ahead of me. I feel complete now since I don't have to worry that I might be wasting my life serving a god that may or may not exist. I'm now free to live my life the way I want. I also feel smarter now, like an actual individual instead of a mindless little drone for an omnipotent being that doesn't need me anyway.
in 1995 the wts as time finally caught up with them, they had to yield to the inevitable and admit that its hitherto interpretation of the so called 1914 last generation was erroneous.
to all intents and purposes the end was indefinitely posrponed it could be centuries away according to the new explanation.
yet the r&f do not seem to realise these implications and are apparently suffering from collective blindness they still believe the end is as near as it was before 1995, just round the corner.
Yeah this is something my family hasn't even considered, without the previous interpretation of the word generation, there is no reason to believe that it will come any time soon, it could still be another 1000 years away.
Am I correct in that assumption?
Honestly I'm not even sure they know that it has changed. I didn't think much of it but just about a year ago he said that armagedon will come before all the annointed die off.

I just had a wicked thought.... What if we apostates made a pamphlet with information about the new anouncement and started passing them out as if we are trying to correct the society. And then about a month later the orginization will come out with their 'new light' and will look like they were accepting advice from us. Then the witnesses who acctualy read the pamphlet will think 'Hey they were right!!!'

i went to a friends house today and he knows someone from bethel and so he got the video early, and i got the privilage of watching it.. not much to report realy, it's very similar to old video, about the workings of bethel.
however this time they were all dressed nicer.
they mentioned the governing body, but didn't bother saying that they are supposedly 'spirit annointed', i don't recall them even mentioning the name 'jesus' and of course they all had those fake smiles.

They were obviously flaunting the fact that the men were cleaning. And they had what I believe is a brand new thing in Watchtower history, a video scene of 'paradise'. They showed people building a house with all hand tools, no power tools... and it was pretty dumb if you notice that, because they were building a modern house with lovely two-by-four's and all that, but no power... YEAH RIGHT!
And by the way in case you were wondering, the crying girl holding the photo on the front of the Nov. AWAKE is staged... my dad thought it was an actual photo. But they showed the girl during the movie.

) - what is this based on?
how can they state that he returned; i mean if it was an invisible return then they are only stating a belief, right?

They don't need proof, they believe it and that's it. Even though it seems stupid to you and I that they think he came invisibly even though there is no proof. I think it just boils down to the fact that they WANT to believe it.
i can see how someone could be agnostic in their view.

thinking that perhaps "god" is just a spiritual santa claus for people who are afraid of death, etc..... but atheism?

and i learned that the society originated with c. t. russel, but to do so he created a sect in his old religion... and we know what the bible says about sects, and he pretty much became a complete apostate and started teaching his own things.
so if he hadn't sinned in two respects the wtbts wouldn't exist.

So if he hadn't sinned in two respects the WTBTS wouldn't exist. So how could god have chosen him to start THE true religion when he had to sin to do so? And every one of his followers had to be part of a sect... didn't god forsee this problem when he said to stay away from sects?
I was just wondering if they have an official rebuttal or if they just don't like to talk about it?
