But as I reflect as a Jw there were a lot of prejudice in the cong. Against gays, worldly people etc. How did you overcome it or did you?
I know for me I still have inner conflicts with my own life style, although I accept who I am.
Would love to hear your thoughts even from the bigots lol

My experience was it was very clinical and abstention was mandatory until marriage. Masturbation was taboo as were thinking things of a sexual nature or viewing obscene literature. Also obscenity had a very wide scope depending on who you talked to.
Results of my era:
1 lots of babies out of wedlock
2 lots of divorces
3 lots of us gay folks
4 lots of df ing and da ing
as another said in another thread it was run by a bunche of victorian men that never married in a lot of cases

I feel let sleeping dogs lye. All a lot of it does in my opinion is stir up bad feelings of being mistreated or left out. Yes people need reinforcement and comfort and a listening ear that is not brainwashed. These folks have tunnel vision on a lot of things and no one will convince them otherwise so that's why I feel it is a waste of time.

I feel a reverance for the divine name. The correct pronunciation is probably lost but it is my understanding this is the closest thing to it.
The word God is a title not a proper name, as Jesus said there are many gods and lords. Since other gods have a name like Buddha, Allah etc. why wouldn't The god of the Jews. Remember on the mount he told Moses his name meant I Am. I still use it when I pray. I can't help it if people have misreprsented him.

I was at work and a customer told us the wtc had been struck by a plane. One of my employees had a portable tv in his car so we watched in disbelief.

Most americans do not support the Bush administrations policies so don't lump all americans in his boat. I for my part say let the arabs do what they want and let them kill each other off and lets get out of the middle east. We need to find alternative sources of energy and not depend on 22% of our oil coming from there.

You know you are all correct I am angry too but I just don't feel like looking into the cult as much as ya'll (my new texas accent) I am hurt too I don't even know where my mother is buried and my family disowned me because or my sexual orientation. I haven't spoken to them in years. I guess I am just trying to understand all the bull###sht from the past. I still believe this is the truth. Where am I? I do believe I am going to be in gehenna in eternal death. But I did not choose my life style!
