Inappropriate Behavior

Apologizing to my non-JW friends
by pale.emperor inyesterday i bumped into an old friend from my last workplace.
he's a gay man and we were good friends along with a woman from the same office.
although i was a jw at the time, i would go for the occasional after work drinks with them, blackpool funfair every year and the occasional cinema or theater.

The whole witness outlook on life, including friends, acquaintances & family is entirely based on conditions.

I need more faith so I've been told
by hoser ini attended the circus assembly last weekend and i have come to the conclusion i am lacking faith.
the opening talk on the program, the very first words that came out of the speakers mouth told me so.
he said most of us here are lacking faith even though we might not know it.

They always were accusing in the tone of their talks at assemblies. You always came away feeling like you'd had your jimmy whipped.Never encouraging, always do more, do more. Nothing is ever good enough - as seen by the pioneer couple in the convention videos who were living 'a comfortable life'.
What? A comfortable life? Well no, you can't be doing that. Even on the back of 70 free hours per month.
A bunch of guilt tripping freak shows. How they can bear it year upon year, upon year, I'll never know.

If anyone claimed that god speaks to them personally.....
by jambon1 inthey'd be viewed as completely mentally ill and laughed at.. so, how do the governing body get away with it?.

And how did it come to be that guys in their fifties could be GB members in 2016?
Absolutely laughable and would've been considered apostasy back when I was a new JW in the late 90's.
Remarkable levels of revisionism.

Anthony Morris III Autobiography ... The Real Truth
by Wild_Thing inthe watchtower published anthony morris iii's autobiography last year ... "remembering my first love has helped me to endure" by anthony morris iii.
i absolutely cannot believe how quickly he became a jehovah's witness.
in the span of less than a year, he attended his first meeting, studied, got baptized, became a pioneer, and married a jw girl.

He's mentally ill and yet the JW's look up to him.

Does it not dawn on the cart witnesses?
by jambon1 ini sat in town recently, right in the window of a nice wee pub.
within minutes i realised that i had a perfect view of a jw cart and the two ridiculously dressed jw's (they have absolutely no individuality at all.
what's more, they all look like they're going to a funeral).

These posts are bringing back so many memories of the years and years of pointless, futile, mind numbing dullness that I lived through.
Why did I put myself through it?
It wasn't even as if the banter was all that good with the bro's etc out on the ministry. Aside from a few, they were all arseholes.

Anyway, as I enjoyed the company and the drinks, I kept my eye on the cart. Three hours I sat in that window. My observation?
Not one! Not one person stopped to so much as glance at the cart.
Now, I realise that they probably do get the odd person to talk to, but what an utterly ridiculous waste of time/life.
But it got me thinking; do they never stop to think what a waste of THEIR OWN time this whole charade is? It's completely pointless and worthless work. No one is being warned, the world isn't being 'put on notice'. NO-ONE CARES!
How are they spinning this activity at the hall? How are they actually getting people to stand like mindless drones whilst being completely ignored by the general public?
Baffling.
