Truly the worst funerals I've ever been to.
Borderline offensive and completely without feeling.
I go to hear the person eulogised, not to hear about their beliefs or those of others.
Appalling.
god forbid you would talk about the dead person at his funeral.
so what do most people get after living 70-80 years?.
a 5-10 minutes eulogy.

'Video showings'
😂
firstly, can anyone link the thread about it on here?
i can't seem to use the search facility.
thank you.. i've just managed to watch a few of these videos filmed inside the court.
I might add that this is a great link to some of the most challenging questions and their response.

I don't know how I managed to miss this lately.
What a slippery, slithery bunch of lying creeps all those elders are. Summed up by the haughty, dismissive and utterly detestable Jeffrey Jackson of the governing body who couldn't even be bothered to look at the statements of the victims in advance of the interview!
To see them questioned like that was absolutely fantastic viewing. I can only imagine that it was deeply uncomfortable for them. They'd better get used to it though as there'll be more questions to answer on all fronts in the future.
Hideous, untrustworthy weirdos. I'm so glad I've got my kids completely free from their influence.
Vile.
this article suggests that there are projects being halted, but chelmsford isn't one of them.
can someone from the uk tell me if this article was written by a reputable and known publisher?
plans for huge jehovah's witnesses hq continues.
I remember on one of the builds, a brother got caught sticking his finger up another brothers bum.
another thread got me thinking of this issue.
i don't think you'll ever come across a set of people with such a skewed and twisted outlook on life.. my memory serves me well when i recall a sort of blood lusting excitement over things like the 9/11 atrocities.
in fact i remember jw's describing the event as 'sad but exciting.
I'll say it again just for emphasis;
9/11 - "sad, but exciting"
Exciting.
😞
'Mentally diseased' is how I'd describe that particular viewpoint of a disaster that claimed thousands of lives and affected thousands more.
Weirdos.

I don't think I've ever met a set of people who thrive on bad news. Earthquakes, terrorism, wars, etc. Never will you come across such strange and quite frankly, disturbing glee as these things unfold in news stories.
On a personal level though, it reflects even more badly on them. Jehovah's Witnesses DO NOT want to hear that you're doing great in life. Even within the congregations, they were never happier than if someone was going through the mill, sinning or suffering some other problem. It's as if it feeds their persecution complex. As if they NEED bad news. As if it validates their world view.
Over the years I've attended funerals and other JW functions. The look of utter confusion on their faces as you swagger in, confidently and without sorrow. It's as if you are required to play the role of 'lost sheep' on those occasions. All beaten by the 'wicked world' and disconsolate.
In conversation they probe you. Fishing for something, ANYTHING that may affirm to them that your decision to leave the organisation was a bad one.
But what an indictment on a set of people! What a strange way to live your life. A strange outlook. A strange perspective.
The best thing you can do is to live a good, productive life. Believe me, they hear about it. You don't need to go about bragging. Shouting 'I'M HAPPY' from the rooftops. Just live your life. Your productive and happy existence will have them scratching their heads as they look around at how many problems exist in the 'spiritual paradise.'
Be happy.
i belonged to this forum for about 5 years ; 14 years ago and made many good online friends here.. it became my new family for awhile and i am very grateful for all the help i received.. for the first time in 10 years i went into a kh for a funeral, bearing in mind it was at the hall where my husband had been the presiding overseer and regular pioneer for many many years.. they were very surprised that i remembered all their names and was confident and happy.. someone said so are you back in the truth, i said simply !
yes i have my truth, thanks.. the elder in question said " well time will tell ?
"and i said yes it has hasn't it, but we aren't in competition..
They hate it when you are happy and confident.
the only thing they want to hear is that you're miserable/suffering somehow.
Queer wee bunch of people.
i decided to write the following letter to my wife after years of frustration.
it was the only way i could express my feelings to her.
so far i have had a mixed reaction from her which i can later tell you about.

Can someone pleaser lighten me about these 'branch correspondence guidelines' dictating about the beards? Surely they've not put stuff about beards in writting to the congs?
On the subject of the letter, well put and succinct. I too have had to write letters to my wife in the past which is astonishing as you just can't hold a conversation about such matters. Witnesses responses to such letters aren't always in line with what is actually written. Rather, a point blank refusal to take certain points on board.
My wife (through her own choice) doesn't know ANYTHING about the extent of mishandling of child abuse, the court cases, settlements, Royal commission. She just refuses to listen which tells its own story.
Good luck, you'll need it.
