Refering to the opening post - how sad. I can only say that I'm grateful that I exited when I did. If I hadn't I could have let pride overcome me & continued to serve for another ten or twenty years. Admitting that I was wrong & that the WTS is wrong has released me from a massive degree of eventual resentment over lost years that can't ever be reclaimed. Ten years was enough for me. Anyone who has spent 40 or so years in the organisation has my great pity.

ks10-e (official release), Letter from Bro. who scanned it! Newer version with BOE LTRs
by yknot inwhile an earlier version was made available privately the time has come to 'progress'.. conscious class and ex both strongly adhere to not keeping things 'hidden' in regards to wts publications, talks and documents which are circulated in order to maintain it's position.. another wonderful poster (who has yet to give me permission to name) has 'reduced' and 'bookmarked' the first full copy link i was given by our 'winner'.. in this newest and final 'clean' copy link you find two other additions besides the reduction/bookmarking..... the brother who uploaded the entire book wishes all to have a copy that includes both boe ltrs (pre-ks ltr and spiral binding ltr).
also another development has occurred.... the brother responsible for this book being brought into light and put forth for public consumption and discussion has requested i post this letter explaining to 'us' (jwn posters/global audience) and 'them' (wts of penn & ny).. i ask you give attention to his words/ experiences as he is representative of a newly emerging demographic within the conscious class.
so without further ado i give you his link and the 'stage' if you will to 'brother johnson'....... [link removed - contact ynot for further info - lady lee].

Children - Your experiences of being raised a JW
by jambon1 inyes, it's my favourite subject.
in fact, it fascinates me.
i am also confident that we can learn a lot from peoples experiences & that perhaps even a few families may avoid repeating the same tragic mistakes made by the ill-advised parents of children raised in the jehovah's witness religion.. as some of you will be aware i have had a struggle in the past to free my children of the criminal effects of wts doctrine on the minds of my infant children.

As some of you will be aware I have had a struggle in the past to free my children of the criminal effects of WTS doctrine on the minds of my infant children. You may like to read my experiences in this regard on page 10 of my 'topics started'. The story is in 3 parts. (sorry I can't seem to post links)
The subject springs to mind due to the time of year being when JW children are denied many of the enjoyable activities that most other children are involved in. I'm not interested in the JW view that 'not everything that worldly children are involved in is harmless.' All I am interested in is the effect that being raised a JW had on you personally. Not just in matters relating to celebrations you weren't part of but also the psycological effect of the teachings of the religion. Were they positive or negative?
In addition, how did your parents react to your feelings if you ever raised the matter with them?
Make your post as long or short as you like. I am interested in all experiences.
Many thanks.

I remember our quickbuild. Elders physically fought each other once & regularly had blazing rows. One elder told a brother who was taking the piss during the build that "if he didn't belt up he would kick his arse off the f***ing site". Lovely encouraging weekends of work so it was.
I love how they call it a 'quickbuild' as well. Before the 4 days completion weekend the work goes on weekend after weekend for months with only the failthful few bothering to show up to do the donkey work. These were the weekends where the fighting happended at our build.
All in all, our build nearly gave me a complete physical breakdown by the time it was completed (worked from January until June).

Why do some expect the WTS to one day end? It's simply not going to happen folks........
by jambon1 inin my anger as an ex witness about 4 years ago i really wished that this would happen.
although the glaring errors, hypocrisy & downright badness of the wts was finally evident to me personally, others whom i had expeced to eventually leave the org have not.. i think it dawned on me around 1 or 2 years ago that my wife will never leave the witnesses.
having presented in both heated & reasonable debate every kind of logical argument against the religions teachings the conversations would get to the point where she would simply refuse to answer my questions.

I think it dawned on me around 1 or 2 years ago that my wife will never leave the witnesses. Having presented in both heated & reasonable debate every kind of logical argument against the religions teachings the conversations would get to the point where she would simply refuse to answer my questions. My observations were so simplistic, realistic & true that she would not comment on them. The logic was shut out. The guards went up. The conversation ended.
I can still recollect the utter frustration of knowing that my wife could see my points & actually tell me that she agreed with me yet she could not go into that zone. She couldn't allow herself to take it on, digest it & make decisions based on the logic. She had to stick with the religion. Even though she could see the glaring faults & errors. My wife was more or less brought up in the religion. I was not.
As the last 4 or 5 years have rolled by I have been astonished to see my wife adapt to & accept the ever changing WTS procedures & doctrines. Matters that are big to me just seem to pass them all by. Not a question asked. Not a whimper of outrage. They just f***ing accept it all.
My point is that there will always be people willing to continue this racket of a religion. Just like the catholics who's history is steeped in corruption, murder & ungodliness, yet a week ago 200 000 people lined the streets of my country to acknowledge the head of an organisation who's crimes over the centuries are well documented. They just go along with it.
Give up the notion of the WTS ever ending or disbanding. It aint going to ever happen.

Religion/JW's must really, really hate the internet/mass media
by jambon1 inthe beutiful city in which i live will host a visit from the pope tomorrow.
it has led to a fair amount of outcry from those opposed to the catholic church/the current pope.. people are so aware of the attrocities comitted by this man & most people are able to form an opinion due to the fact that all things are now uncovered almost immediately by the mass media/internet.. i think it's a wonderful thing.
being able to have all sorts of crimes/attrocities/scandals, openly exposed.

Not so long ago religion was able to sweep everything under the carpet. Individuals had very little scope to tell their stories. To expose wrongdoing & wickedness within certain organisations.
The wicked who would like to 'cover up' scandal or protect their pathetic organisations must hate the internet & the availability of information that is now so freely accesable. They must really hate it.
I say - Get it right up you!
You are being exposed for the racket that you are.

How can they look at babies........
by jambon1 in............and really believe that it is right that god will destroy them soon?.
a baby is a beutiful, innocent vulnerable little human being.
how can they really believe that it is right and just that god destroys millions of babies and children?.

It makes me wonder about the mental capacity & balance of such individuals.

Baby Worship
by jambon1 ini remember when we had our 1st kid, there was an absolute ass hole of a pioneer elder in our hall.. when people were making a big deal of our newborn daughter, he made some remarks about 'baby worship'.. in conversation it turned out that he resented the adulation given to a new born baby & felt that the way witnesses acted around a newborn was over the top & inappropriate.. this arsepeice was childless.
he & his wife had decided to put kingdom interests ahead of having a family.
it will be interesting to see how he feels in his lonely old age, childless, bitter & still here, in this 'old system'.. no real surprise when you consider the actions of thousands of jw's as they shun their flesh & blood for the reason of disagreeing with the religion or other reasons.. it seems that in jw land, even loving your children too much is frowned upon.. .

At the tribulation your children may be taken from you like in nazi Germany
by jambon1 init is incredible the amount of scaremongering that jw's carry out.. this was one that always plagued me when i was still trying to grasp onto my beliefs as a jw.. either in wt study or in private discussion, this topic would come up.. what a horendous outlook of the future.
to be in absolute fear that the authorities might take your children away from you.
that you might suffer torture.

The reason I mentioned it was because I was told that I was too sensitive by many JW's when discussing stuff like this that worried me.
I was also told that I 'think too much'.
