What kind of things did you do when going door to door to add time?

i was intrigued by an earlier post.

the point was made that the jws are going door-to-door to meet a quota and are not really concerned about the people they are witnessing to, but only in saving their own butts.

has anyone ever had a non-jw friend and asked them if they could talk about jehovah for a while to them, in order to fill the time they need?

ONE MONTH MY HUSBAND AND I WERE PIONEERING AND WE HAD TO GO OUT OF TOWN FOR A WEEKEND FOR FAMILY AND WE KNEW IF WE DID WE WOULD NOT MEET OUR QUOTA SO WE DECIDED TO STOP AT EVERY REST AREA ALONG THE WAY. THERE AND BACK WE LEFT BACK ISSUES AT GAS STATIONS AND REST AREAS. IT WORKED GREAT. 6 HOURS THERE AND 6 HOURS BACK. I THINK WE HIT 5 PLACES EACH WAY. WE MADE OUR TIME THATS ALL WHAT REALLY MATTER TO THEM RIGHT!!!!

The end of The Watchtower!

i was thinking about the wtbs this weekend as i mowed my lawn.

they have taken so much from my family in the form of money and most importantly time, that i have developed a hatred for them.. as i cut the grass, burning gasoline and contaminating the air, i realized that the watchtower is loosing ground.

fortunatly for my family my mother married a worldly man.

I can understand your frustration when it comes to time and money spent. I spent 30 years and who knows how much $. I am so grateful for my parents and sister who have helped my and my family see the light. I have such peace now knowing my kids do not have to go through the embarrassment of standing out in a crowd at school.

we sat down with her while her husband was out of town and told her many things we had discovered.

so was so disturbed by this she couldnt wait for her husband to get home and share the "new light" with him.

I want to thank each and everyone of you for reading my post. Sorry for the length of it. I just wanted to let you all know that if I can do it so can you. I wanted people I know that if I get the ax they will know the real reason why. Thank you all for your responses, I plan on continuing with "my" not the org.s preaching work!!!!!

When My husband and I left the org back in Sept. I felt that I had to tell my closest girl friend the reasons why we are no longer going to meetings. We sat down with her while her husband was out of town and told her many things we had discovered. So was so disturbed by this she couldnt wait for her husband to get home and share the "new light" with him. The very next day he wanted all of us to sit down together and go over the things we shared with his wife. This couple is our closest friends in our cong. We started getting together and going over things constantly. They have not gone to meetings since Dec. They have 3 kids and their marriage is better now than it has ever been. (they used to argue alot because he didnt go to meetings reg. and she had to take all 3 kids by herself and this caused many fights every week) I also shared the info with another close friend of mine letting her know why we were no longer going to me attending the hall. She had married a worldly man and has been on her mind ever since always wondering if what she did was displeasing to Jehovah. He has been studing and since I shared with them the info she has taken a load off her mind and finally feeling guilt free for being married to a wonderful man. He is no longer studing and they are doing great and just celebrated their 5 year old daughters bday for the first time.

All of my family has left the org. except one of my bro who has disowned this whole family. My father (ROCKHOUND) my mother (LITTLE BO PEEP) my bro in law (BLACK PEARL) and my sister (LADY LIBERTY) along with their daughter, my bro and his wife and two daughters, another bro of mine. My husband and I with our three daughters. My parents left the org. 4 years ago and they have been incrediable helping not only this whole family but many other families as well. I may have never brought any one into the "truth" in 30 years but I am proud to say I have helped 8 people out not including my immediate family.My grandma is still in the org.and she said that everyone at the last assembly kept coming up to her rubbing her back like the whole family had died and she has no one. What CRAP!!!!

Yesterday morning I was sitting on the couch and and the phone rang. It was an old friend who I had not talked to in a long long time. I told my husband he must be calling because he heard a rumor. Sure enough we talked about our families then the big ? came up. He said "Ok what is up with this whole date thing? Everyone is talking about it and I want to know what is going on." YES YES my families plan is working. We told our grandma that if anyone else asks why we all have left the org tell them if they really care about her then try to prove 607 so she can help this family out. Well its working because it is the talk of the whole area. This friend that called me lives about 50 miles away from my grandma. Anyway after about 1 1/2 hours of talking with him he could not believe what I told him and I didnt even have to direct him to apostate sites. I said look up all the neo-babylonian kings write their names on a paper and go to the cd rom or insite books to get their lengths of reign and add them up (I did a whole post on how easy it is to calculate-Neb. was not even a king in 607 so it is impossible for him to destroy Jer. in 607 during his 19th year) He was blown away. My hope is he will research this like he said he would and I can continue on my journey bringing more people into the "TRUTH"

I need to lose weight. but HOW?

i've gained a lot of weight recently.

i really need to lose some.

now, my diet isn't the problem as such....its the excersize part.

One of the things that helps me is to eat on a small plate. Visually it seems like you have a full plate.

there is the link, i was unable to edit the audio file like i usually do to take out the blank spaces and amplify the volume, so if someone could do that with the wav file on the server that would be great!.

Thank you again Dan, That should be a credit card commercial PRICELESS!!!!! I think Dateline would love to talk with you,or maybe 20/20. We all look forward to more of your projects. How are your parents going to handle this? Your mom seems very supportive I hope she hears and sees all they have put you through just for asking ?s they cant answer.

Rent vs. Buying a house

i have started thinking about buying a house again.

something that drives me nuts is the fact that i can't seem to get a straight answer out of anyone as to whether or not owning a house would be financially better than renting an apartment.. things to take into consideration:how much i pay in rent.how much rent increases each year.how much i pay in renters insurance.how much a mortgage would be.how much pmi or an 80 / xx mortgage would be.how much i would have to take from or borrow from my 401ks and iras for a down payment.how much i will have to pay in penalties for taking money from my 401ks and iras.how much money l will loose by not having that 401k money earning interest.how much maintenance on the property will cost.how much insurance will cost.how much i will be paying in property taxes.how much in "freebies" i will get from the seller (they will pay $xxx in closing costs if i use their mortgage company).other crap i haven't thought of yet.. it seems like everyone i talk to has their own agenda and they all give me different results based on they want me to do so they will get more money from me.

I am a loan officer so hopefully I can help with your questions. Depending on where you live will determine how much property is appreciating each year. One way to find out how much home owners ins. will be call an insurance company and ask them how much it would cost to insure a house for $(decide how much you want to pay for a house) Then call a title company and they can let you know how much average taxes are per month depending on where you want to buy. There are so many products out there for people to get into homes with absolutely no money down, interest only, good credit or bad credit. I helped a man get into a house with no money down not a penny, his mid credit score was 570 and he had no current credit ie:(no credit cards,auto payments,etc) all his credit was old and mostly collections. So there are many products for all types of people. What I do is prequalify people and give them a rough idea what they can afford and their payments. Also at tax time every year you get to write off all of the interest you paid. Another couple I helped bought a house and normally they get $3000 back in taxes, this year they are getting $9000 back. (they bought a $415,000 house.)It is a win win situation.If you have any more questions let me know. I hope I helped.

an "Adult's" View.

here i sit, in my public library, typing away a computer from a hot nasty seat.. but i wouldn't be anywhere else in the world right now.

(okay, maybe a couple of other places).

i have to be at work in 40 minutes, and its a 15 minute drive from here, so lets not expect a novel of a post.. yesterday was my birthday, and they did a little cake thing for me and all that which was nice, but otherwise, nothing is new.. my mother seems to be cooling off, but lets just say that the "excrement flinging fan" hasn't been turned off yet.. i'm 18 now, and nothing is different.
