  I know this sounds crazy but, what if?

  so i've been thinking about my jw family members a lot lately, especially since i just saw them a couple of weeks ago at my youngest sisters wedding.

  with all the current animosity towards apostates that seems to be more aggressive than usual it hit me when i saw this posted on fb today.

  would it be possible for the gb to demand that jw's kill apostates?

  Kool-aid drinking uber JWs don't have any weapons handguns

  FTFY.

  There are plenty of things that can be made weapons. I know JWs who hunt - they have longarms, just not handguns.

  There are kitchen knives (utensils - A-ok to own), axes, machetes, lawnmower blades (all tools - perfectly ok to have).

  I don't see this happening anytime too soon, but it's not outside the realm of possibility.

  I can't really see any scenario where this would be anything but incompetence, other than maybe something that happened during a chase. But I would think a high-speed chase would've caused more damage to the car in front (A141).

  This looks like A141 just wasn't paying attention and backed into and over F105.

  when we look at the conti case we see the amount of control that the governing body has over the rank and file makes them open to lawsuits.

  i see lots of areas where this can work against the financial and legal interest of the corporation, for example:.

  1. a banning of blood transfussions enforced by disfellowshipping.

  DoC's note led me to crunch some quick numbers for the last 2 decades. Interesting.

  This is using Yearbook figures:

  1989 Peak Pubs - 3,787,188

  # Baptized 1990-1999 - 3,234,811

  So, 1999 Peak Pubs should be 7,021,999.

  1999 Peak Pubs - 5,912,492

  A difference of 1,109,507 - or 34.29% of the number baptized.

  -------------

  1999 Peak Pubs - again 5,912,492

  # Baptized 2000-2009 - 2,699,241 (note this is 535,570 less than the previous decade)

  So 2009 Peak pubs should be 8,611,733

  2009 Peak Pubs - 7,313,173

  A difference of 1,298,560 - or 48.10% of the number baptized.

  So in the aughts, WTBTS lost amost half of what they gained in membership.

  2009 Peak pubs should be 9,721,240

  A difference of 2,408,067 - 40.58% of the number baptized.

  How much of the loss is due to older ones dying off and how much due to people leaving, I can't be sure. I'll leave more detailed analysis of these numbers to others.

  Circuit overseers acting like bigshots

  i always felt that circuit overseers always acted as if they were some type of celebrity at the hall.people damn near worshipped these people.

  i always felt like we should worship god and not these people or the governing bodyw while i was still in.. this was probably my process of eventually leaving..

  Yea, we have the CO and the DO (a "work-with" week) at my hall this week. Fun to watch all the hypocritical ass-kissers showing up early (who normally show up at the last minute) and fawning all over these guys.

  DO came to the literature counter doing his handshakings and greetings. Guy's hand was smooth as a baby's ass. Bet he's never done a day of hard work in his life.

  i downloaded the hobbit.

  didn't see it in theaters because at nearly three hours, it's just too damned long.

  not sure i'm going to make it through the whole movie.

  Interesting. We shall see.

  My main disappointment was that since PJ had stuck largely to the books in LotR, I thought he would do so in Hobbit. Still, as I said, it wasn't bad enough to prevent me from buying it when it came out. I guess when he decided to make Hobbit 3 movies instead of 2 ($$$), he needed some filler.
