Well, when I left in the 80's, which I know isn't recent, they were clamoring to work the "projects" which were predominently black. If this sounds racist, it's because they were racist. The brothers said, the blacks were a fertile field because they would believe anything you tell them! I imagine the same attitudes exist today, with Hispanics being deemed the gullible, easily won over people` Nowadays, blacks, being as smart as anybody else, have figured the Dubs out. Now they prey upon Hispanics and Asians, it appears.

Are people still becoming JWs in the West?
by greendawn ingiven the exposure that the wts receives on the internet or in books and the fact that the public in general must have realised by now that the jws are a double faced organisation that does not deliver what it promises, do you know of any total outsiders, ie those that did not grow up as jws, that are now moving into this org?
.
to us who have been there and seen it all this seems very odd, but no doubt many of these new dubs will in the future move out in the midst of a lot of turbulance.

Let's give them "growth" where it hurts!
by schne_belly in.
ok - this thread about wt and their money got me thinking.... http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/116971/1.ashx ...for all those here that still attend meetings.. go to your "literature servant" at the next meeting and request a couple new bibles, wt cd's, songbooks, or double your magazine order, etc.
just make sure you forget to donate.. lets keep those wt printers busy!!!

Did anyone really buy into the "Universal Sovereignty" issue?
by loli ini am new to the forum, but not new to jw indoctrination.
even as a child, i would ask myself, "why would the almighty creator need to prove anything to anyone, including him/her/itself?
really, one of the few scriptures that i do actually agree with is that 'god is love.

Yep, Dan, those darn silly Witnesses! Where DO they get their funny ideas? Good thing there's the Watchtower, to correct them!

Why would the Almighty give a rat's fanny what Satan or the angels thought? And why drag the human race into this big contest to choose sides, like little pawns between two powerful entities? Doesn't make any sense. Is God so insecure, he really cares what anyone thinks? Does he need the validation that he got picked over Satan by the some insignificant humans?
It sounded like God was playing games, but God wouldn't stoop so low to compete with the Devil for the affections of humans, would he, so I was confused over this teaching.

Well, my goodness! Do you think Jesus would fault you for serving your beloved Mother a nice cake? It doesn't say "Happy Birthday" all over it, does it? So, it's just a pretty cake, some thing nice you want to treat her to...even if it does say "Happy Birthday" would Jesus really find that so wicked? Enjoy the moment with her, she won't last forever, and you'll make her happy. Nice memories to have later on.

Beautiful pictures! They remind me a bit of my former home near Lake Michigan. Oh, and can you keep those Canadian geese critters up there in Canada? They descend in droves upon our ponds down here, multiply like rabbits, and our city parks department needs a Caterpiller to scoop up all the P*op! Lol, pretty birds, tho...

Go to Fodor's Travel Forums, and if this information isn't already in the message boards to the left, you can ask the question. The board has excellent travel info. Remember to click on Europe. Good luck!

New Blood Info
by chappy innot sure if this has been posted before but:.
american medical association researchers have made a remarkable discovery.
it seems that some patients needing blood transfusions may benefit from receiving chicken blood rather than human blood.

Done4good, I've been out since 1983, and we were allowed to have tiny little bits of fun, occasionally. Yeah, big wow. But that sounds permissive, compared to the grim lifestyle they are rigidly following nowadays. You may be on to something. If they keep on like this, they won't need any help going out of business! Seems like people keep insisting on enjoying life, and the old toads in Crooklyn keep insisting they stop that nonsense, and suffer!

It sounds like they are just getting worse and worse! How do they keep anybody?
Either people must not be really applying all these "encouraging suggestions" in real life, or they are flat out leaving in droves. This should open many more eyes to how twisted and cultlike this is! There was a little bit of fun allowed in the 80's, but it sounds so grim and serious now. I just don't see how human beings can live this way.
