Yes, a new trick, don't tell you are JW. I ALWAYS told people that I am JW, but, was reprimanded by "smart Elder", that I shoulda not tell that people, because they don't want to listen. We shoulda say that we are christians now, and give them mags, and offer bible study. But I was stubborn, and at next door, I said same thing: " we are Jehova's Witnesses". I have feeling that the "smart Elder" was ready do choke me and stone to death on the spot. He was not willing to work with me in the " Ministry". LOL HE ! HE !

The WT is again reminding women of their "proper role"

after the usual claptrap and disclaimers (like how sometimes women have to substitute for baptized men in a congregation setting) - it concluded by saying women keep silent by "not raising argumentative questions that could challenge the authority of those who teach.
" how do the women swallow this stuff and still feel grateful for "rich spiritual food"?

Why house to house peddling magazines ? Because this is MOST EFFECTIVE way of selling EVER.
It is easy to say NO to a salesman on the phone.
They know that.
Is Not so easy to say NO to a nice, smilling, young, happy couple, or a child offering magazine, and quoting from the bible. They KNOW that.
And they know, that the best way to sell is to tell people that if they don't BUY, they will DIE.
We have to sell everlasting life. WE HAVE IT, WE THE BORG, YOU CAN ONLY BUY FROM US.
If you don't BUY, you DIE at Armagedon "tomorow". And to live, cost you NOTHING, you have ONLY TO LISTEN TO US AND LEARN FROM THE BIBLE.
