Yesterday my father informed me that he will shun me...
by nvrgnbk inbut only if a judicial committee tells him to.. if they say i'm inactive and let me be, he can still talk to me.. it's meaningless, because i would never meet with a jc, but he let me know where he stands.. he's dead to me.. i'm not hurting.. lost tons of respect for the man.. i told him he was brainwashed and left him without saying goodbye.. to no longer live for his approval was liberating, but this is even better.. i told him that i couldn't do that to my son.. his response?.
unconditional love is a lie.. you only get unconditional love from a dog.. sick, brainwashed, emotionally bankrupt man.. p.s.- not looking for cyber hugs.

PROJECT JERICHO--What are the advantages of a mass exodus?
by uninformed ini have seen lots of encouragement for us to 'unite' and accomplish something that would set back the wt society, but in such a diverse group as we are, it seems that even though we are together, we are alone.. has anyone thought of the possibility of 'semi' organizing a date certain for a bunch to abandon the organization?
kind of like the exodus, or someting along those line.
maybe a loosely organized letter writing campaign.

As for organizing group actions, we must have a trustworthy and charismatic person to take the lead in something. The reason I say this is because I, personally have not been able to so much as sustain a meet-up group in one of the largest (and by extension with the MOST ex-JWs) cities in the world. The apathy of ex-JWs is really astounding to me. I wonder of it is a natural result experienced by all ex-cult members. They seem to shy away from ANY sort of meeting - even ex-JW meetings. Plus, I think that the amount of people on this site that are serious about taking action are a very small minority. I just haven't seen any evidence of large groups getting organized to accomplish anything. It's ok to whjine, I can imagine many of us saying, but to actually do something is far from most ex-JWs minds, sadly.

2. I don't think that APATHY is quite the correct word, but functionally it is the same effect. I think that we have all lost a lot of trust and we are all reluctant to get involved in any kind of 'movement'. However, I think that at least some kind of 'movement' is in order. Seems like some of us could band together and develop a hard hitting "Newsletter" or very short brochure, and develop a mailing list with the help of all on this board, and send it out. Probably wouldn't cost much, but then you are back to the problem of 'TRUST'.
3. I think that our quick willingness to whine, and our lack of action to really DO anything is unhealthy.
I would like to ask as many as possible the following questions:
Who on this board that is 'famous' or very well known at least, would like to take the lead in working on a brochure and mailing list?
Who will support this effort with expertise in writing (along with others) a hard hitting brochure?
Then: Who will support this effort monetarily?
COME ON FOLKS, LET'S GET THIS THING STARTED!!!
If we do indicate that we have some interest in a project like this, I would like to establish a 'drop dead' date for the brochure to be out. Many have mentioned Memorial. Why not have it ready to send a couple of weeks before Memorial?
We need some real writers, that can say a lot in a few words, then a group effort to decide what subject matter would be the most effective, then of course, the "tone" of the arguments would have to be acceptable so we don't sound like a bunch of raving maniacs.
Anyone have any ideas of costs? For a Brochure? For a Newsletter?

I think they monitor us, but the sadness is they know they are corrupt and only loyal to a printing organization, so they can't be bothered with having an attack of conscience and then getting the heck out of there.
Can you imagine Jaracz saying, "Wow, Brothers, I think we should apologize for joining with the United Nations", or perhaps, "Brothers we know that 607 is probably the wrong date, so we'd better apologize to those that we stumbled."
I wouldn't be saddened when they read the forum and see so much in-fighting and arguing. They know they damn near destroyed us and that most of us are really struggling in the dark.
Maybe struggling in the dark is the first step to being enlightened.

I just reread your first post Oompa. She hasn't had power for 36 yrs. She started at the Children's Defense Fund out of law school, and worked for change. Made some progress there. As First Lady, brought Health Care to the forefront. Made some progress but not enough. Etc. Etc. We have had a conservative gov for too many years, what have THEY brought? More tax cuts for the wealthy, rape the environment, begin a seemingly endless war, cronyism, corruption...................................??? Continuing to work for change in the face of right wing obstacles is to be admired, now how some power?!
Our government is not conservative.
Our tonge-tied President is not conservative.
Out country has too many taxes. Hillary wants more, along with Osama ben Bama and Edwards.
The Republicans are fresh out of conservatives too.
Dead Fred is probably the best choice in a field of bad choices.
Hillary will probably be our next president. For my comfort, she and Bill have known way too many dead people. In the resurrection, if there is one, I would like to speak with Vince Foster. Where are his files?
Hillary is evil, and she will further destroy our country by taxing us to death. I hope she is the next President so you liberals will have to spend the next 8 years defending her.
