  it seems you have to be of the "popular crowd" on this forum to express feelings and views.

  as i am not of this crowd, i have recently recieved alot of not so friendly comments and p.m.s from people who seem to think they need to put me in my place.

  it is funny how some people can express their views and opinions and everyone still loves them.

  I am glad you decided to stay.

  This is a huge board and if you said "Jehovah is God" there are people here that would call you out on it. I do believe that when we come here we do tend to be egocentric, that is, we think our views should be acknowledged and responded to in a respectful way.

  However, that is not the way it is. I rarely even get an acknowledgement for my posts, and if I did, they would probably say how shallow and stupid it is. And, if you compare the 'weightiness' of my posts to Blondie's, Leolaia's, or Mary or Gary Busselman or soooooo many others, my posts are shallow and stupid. But, so what, I got to say it and someone somewhere may be helped.

  Within the family here there are dozens of posters that form smaller families, and they have gotten to know and like each other, and they comment on each others comments. They have 'earned' a spot at the table by carving out for themselves a peer group within a group. I think that is cool. Sometimes I get a kick out of reading their posts to each other and find them quite creative.

  So, stick around. You couldn't possibly be more ignored than me. But, I haven't spent the time and effort that so many have done here to become persons of note. There as some REAL scholars here, and I just like to be here to read what they write.

  After 5 or 10 thousand posts, your name will be in the highlights. I am looking forward to that for you. I am an old man and it works good for me to sit on the sidelines, though I have met some awsome people here and talked to them personally.

  i'm leaving on friday for a couple of weeks.

  if anyone would care to meet along the way (list of states in title) drop me a pm and i'll plug you into my brand, spanking new gps (for you riders, a garmin zumo 450 a sweet little unit) and try to get to your area.

  I am also planning a harley trip into colorado, but at the end of the month of July. Maybe one day we can go on a ride together.

  We live in Kansas City, Kansas, and I would love for you to drop by, and if the timing is anywere near right I will ride with you for a ways. I have an 06 Road King Classic and always look for an excuse.

  Also, I have ridden extensively in Colorado, and would be happy to tell you a few great rides if you want the input.

  Punished by our “friends” for the letter we sent.

  some of you may have read our exit letter from august of last year which we sent to about 50 of our close jw "friends", many of whom we had been very close to for decades.

  we just told them what we had learned regarding the un scandal and provided all the documentation.

  we never disassociated ourselves, nor have we been disfellowshipped.

  WT LAWYER REPRESENTED MUHAMMAD ALI

  hayden c. covington represented muhammad ali when he refused to sign up for the draft.. covington's argument was that muhammad ali was a religious minister.. this argument failed.

  I was drafted about the same time as Cassius Clay, alias Muhammed Ali.

  At the time I was going through the court system, he was too. I was sorely disappointed that Covington defended him and not any of us JW boys who were facing prison.

  By the way. Ali did not serve time for his draft situation. (I personally did 2 years in the Federal Penitentiary.)

  BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?

  i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.

  while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).

  a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

  I worked temp const in the 80's both in Wallkill and in NYC.

  I laid bricks and blocks in the 360 basement, and was there when they took out the old steam heat system. I also got to work on 25, 30 the Bossert basement and the Sliver.

  My Son Jonathan Jones went up to NYC with me on Temp Const while we were working on the Sliver and he was asked to stay. He was 18 at the time. He has said several times that Gil Nararoff was one of the only 'heavies' that was nice to him.

  I met brother Underwood and a Williams that was put in charge of the completed 360.

  One of my overseers was Mark Offut, was friends with Tim and John Lucas and learned to hate (not quite hate) an electrician kid named Ralph the Ass Kisser Ripley.

  My poor son Jonathan wasted 4 years up there instead of college, but I am proud to say that he hates the organization now too.

  Any of you remember him? (Jonathan Jones or Thad Jones--My other son who went to Bethel). 89 to 95 -----???

  and that is one good reason to back off some.

  New Watchtower format is all because of Blondie!

  i was just reading a thread about the new 'exciting' format for the watchtower and how there will be a jw only edition.

  add to this what i believe is the new rule that da'd and df'd people are not allowed to receive the magazines unless they attend meetings.

  this all got me thinking.... .

  THE UNIVERSE - What do you now believe about it?

  i was watching this documentary on the various galaxies and it stated that the universe is still expanding, planets are being created as we speak.

  it also detailed some of the planets within our solar system and some beyond it and speculated how some were favorable for habitation and that some show evidence of having a water supply.

  what do you believe about the universe?
