NC, it is the "Karl Rove Gambit" - accuse your enemy of that which you, yourself, are guilty.
In this case, the right accuses the POTUS and the Democrats of "inflammatory rhetoric" regarding race - not the actual culprits: FOX News and the neo-cons, who fan the flames and then when the race wars heat up, blame Obama. Clever, no?
Watch for the KRG in the coming months - Romney has already given it a whirl with the GOP War on Women:
“There’s been some talk about a war on women,” Romney said, according to a report by The Hill newspaper. “The real war on women has been waged by the Obama administration’s failure on the economy.”
See how this works? It is so predictable that it could even be turned in a drinking game during the debates.

the president himself jumping into the Martin case with inflammatory rhetoric, ala, Jackson and Sharpton.
Transcript of President Obama's remarks on the Trayvon Martin killing:
QUESTION: Mr. President, may I ask you about this current case in Florida, very controversial, allegations of lingering racism within our society — the so-called do not — I’m sorry — Stand Your Ground law and the justice in that? Can you comment on the Trayvon Martin case, sir?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, I’m the head of the executive branch, and the Attorney General reports to me so I’ve got to be careful about my statements to make sure that we’re not impairing any investigation that’s taking place right now.
But obviously, this is a tragedy. I can only imagine what these parents are going through. And when I think about this boy, I think about my own kids. And I think every parent in America should be able to understand why it is absolutely imperative that we investigate every aspect of this, and that everybody pulls together — federal, state and local — to figure out exactly how this tragedy happened.
So I’m glad that not only is the Justice Department looking into it, I understand now that the governor of the state of Florida has formed a task force to investigate what’s taking place. I think all of us have to do some soul searching to figure out how does something like this happen. And that means that examine the laws and the context for what happened, as well as the specifics of the incident.
But my main message is to the parents of Trayvon Martin. If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon. And I think they are right to expect that all of us as Americans are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves, and that we’re going to get to the bottom of exactly what happened.
Thank you.

Racism on the forum / Treyvon Martin
by Simon ini've just been catching up on some of the posts that people made about this case and i am appalled at the blatant racism demonstrated by certain individuals.. yes, you are entitlted to your opinion ... but at some point your opinion needs to be kept locked inside your ignorant biggoted empty skull and not come out of your stupid fat mouth.
it especially shouldn't be posted on my forum.. such racism will not be tollerated here.. i also would like to publicly apologise to outlaw for not being on top of this earlier and making sure that he wasn't lumped in with these despicable people for simply pointing out how out-of-line their behavior was.
sorry my friend - you did not deserve that and i understand completely why you have had a break from the site..

Women are able to focus on more than one thing at a time, believe it or not. Pointing at the economy ("look! over there!") while taking away their civil rights isn't going to wash in November either.

Rick Santorum made a huge contribution to the Republican War on Women. It will not be forgotten.
Unfortunately, Mitt's got his own women issues:
The Mormon position on women has changed little since the early 1800's, when the official view was that "woman's primary place is in the home, where she is to rear children and abide by the righteous counsel of her husband" (McConkie 844). This attitude, coupled with the doctrine of polygamy and the absolute power claimed by the men of the church, created a legacy of profound sexism which modern Mormonism has been unable to escape.

Rev Wright. off the hook...wow.

When Rev. Wright's remarks are put in context, they are much less inflammatory. He is definitely dramatic, but he is speaking to his audience who understand him in the context of their life experience which is very different from mine or, perhaps, yours. And, FWIW, there is a certain amount of truth in some of those quotes. He does not advocate for violence; he does advocate for Christian charity.

Political party of maximum freedom
by tootired2care init amazes me that the country continues to support the political parties that have invaded our bedroom, wasted our money, and intruded on our freedom.
in other words the voters still vote democrat and republican, when it is those same parties that have gotten us in the mess we're in now.
it seems most of the issues that people have with the political parties boil down to simply limits and intrusions of freedom, whether it's imposed religious views or overtaxation and wastefulness.. my question is why hasn't there been a stronger movement to build a 3rd political party that has a core philosophy of maximum freedom?
