Has anyone in this thread addressed this poll?:

Some News Leaves People Knowing Less
According to the latest results from Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind Poll, some news sources make us less likely to know what’s going on in the world. In the most recent study, the poll asked New Jerseyans about current events at home and abroad, and from what sources – if any – they get their information. The conclusion: Sunday morning news shows do the most to help people learn about current events, while some outlets, especially Fox News, lead people to be even less informed than those who say they don’t watch any news at all.

depressed and starting to loose it
by raxxxx insooo... it has been a few good months since i started having doubts and started researching.
now very much convinced i had been lied to and my parents had not done their homework prior being baptised therefore it fucked up my future ... just a bit.
now also had been going out with a jw girl for 1,5 years... and i am starting to loose it... stuck in a lie, delaying the getting engaged because of my attitude towards religion(she knows i had doubts and always have been anti watchtower - got baptized anyway... stupid me - but she doesn't make a big deal out of it... she is not very strong spiritually) ergo i know i am not fit to be head of the house by jw standards... but i just love her too damn much to break her heart by leaving the organization and ergo leaving her.

I suspect you do know what to do, raxxxx.
Put the plug in the jug.
Tap into what you've always known - this is not the truth.
Proceed to get a life.

I get this one mixed up with the Christian Longo case - JW who killed his whole family in Oregon - in over his head financially, etc., etc..
Being a Witness is no protection against the vagaries that are visited upon other human beings.

Oh, you girls! I will come home with a tan, I doubt I will post - Mr Bee's Ipad will be my connection to the outside world but it is hard to use for posting here. I will be concentrating on smacking that little white (or pink or orange) ball around the course.
If I see Burn - how will I know?

Lotsa golf, sunshine (I hope), beach/pool time, relaxing, and reading. Finishing up The Nine by Jeffrey Toobin (about the SCOTUS) and Game Change about the 2008 election. Also some fiction - Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Tom Franklin. Plus on Kindle The Wrong Box by Robert Louis Stevenson - hilarious.
Any other suggestions for Kindle out there?
In a perfect world, I would take FHN with me - cause she needs (deserves) this more than I do.
Oh, yeah - I will be back - to enjoy this crazy, scary election year. God bless America!

"No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public."
~H. L. Mencken (and Bizzy Bee)
"Why does Fox completely annhilate all the other cable news outlets put together by crushing them in the ratings?"
I'd say a lot of people don't like real news - they prefer to have it pre-digested for them. They watch FOX and think they are well-informed. I can think of no other explanation for the travesty that is FOX News.
I listen to Limbaugh and Hannity when I'm in the car (sometimes) so that I am aware of the latest spin. They are truly awful.

A mentally ill woman whose trauma manifest itself in philosophically over-wrought novels, which, inexplicably, have found devotees increasingly amongst those of the far right over the past 40 years.
I find that frightening. Don't you?

Best succinct observation on the topic is by Christopher Lawford: "Relapse is part of recovery."
My take-away is: Don't throw in the towel because someone relapses.
