every once in a while, the whole "futility of life" thing washes over me and something inside of me mentions the suicide option.

not that it's ever seriously considered, but one of the low-level accounting-types in my head quietly sends around a "worst-case scenario" memo that everyone reads, then dismisses.. after all, things always perk up.

"but," reminds the pessimistic little guy that should've been fired years ago, "they always go back down, too.

Firearms And Shooting...

i thought i would open up a thread on firearms and shooting.

personally i was raised around firearms as my dad was not a jw.

some of my earliest memories are of my dad teaching me how to put a round in a fleas ass at 200 meters.

it's gone

...all in the name of progress.. the apartment complex where i live was originally condos but over time are now apartments.

it's my understanding that they were built back in the real estate boom of the mid-80s...say 1984. as time passes, things are in need or repair and/or replacement.

it's just a fact of life.

I had a similar experience a few years ago. In my small apartment complex courtyard we had about 8 tall pine trees growing out of beds of ivy. It allowed me the fantasy at times of being in the mountains and hearing the 'wind whispering through the pines.'

Then, one day they were all chopped down. One of my elderly neighbors had slipped on pine needles on the walkway - almost like suddenly being on rollerskates. So, to avoid any liability issues - down came the trees. I was so sad. Then, a few weeks later the building was painted, but first they washed it with bleach. Well, they used too much and killed all the ivy.

Sorry you've lost your tree, too. I know how it feels. Not good.

it is interesting to note that clive thomas (canadian branch office) spoke during his part in such a way as to betray the fact that he was personally aware that what he was saying was false.. it's one thing when a local onion gets exuberant about parroting the gb's nonsense.

it's quite another when a bloodsucker like clive comes from the branch and does a "bait 'n switch" the way he did.

...what about the use of cell phones? pagers? surely, these too could be used by 'apostates' who might phone the JWs... must get rid of them, too ya know.

It is clear that the WTS is desperate - it is an attempt to stem the hemorraging of R & F because of the Great Satan - the World Wide Web!

The WTS is demonizing the Internet - and their assault on the Internet will accelerate - because it is clearly a losing battle. Basically, the Internet is a rapid transmission of huge volumes of information - the kiss of death to the WTS!

The light is indeed getting brighter. Only that it comes from another light bulb now. This new one is called "world wide web".
