i'd love to get hold of these parents. I'd make em pray, whether they'd manage to get to the amen part i don't know...sickening.

hey mary.
yes i'm engaging with an ex-jw's on another website, who still believes what they believe, and he dragged up the whole john 1:1 thing. i mentioned johannes greber, but he seems to think that regardless of who the society use to support it, their rendition is perfectly fine.

is there anything that can be used against their john 1:1 translation, in their own reference bible or other literature? (for example an acknowledgment that they added the 'a' before god, rather than it already being there? Maybe thats me being over-hopeful, but anything else that will help would be good.

Hey long time no see!!! I'm a JWD old timer lol
by Sirona ini used to post here...a lot!.
just thought i'd say hello to you all...you wonderful people who got out of the jw cult!
i have come to believe that we are an amazing bunch of people - we made our way despite all the odds and fought for individuality - and won.. even today i was told that going back to the hall would solve my problems (by a jw family member) and i honestly can say that i felt amusement.

yes, but not in the bound volume edition. it speaks about the ministry being completed in the 20th century. Add this logic to Matt 24:14 and voila.
the crafty trouts changed it in the bound volume from 20th century to 'in our day'

Pity for Angel Eyes
by KW13 inwell, not just angel eyes but also for those like her.
i genuinely had no issue with her, and it seemed she was starting to realise just what the watchtower was, but backed out due to fear of the unknown.
'tis sad, she almost got her life back!.

i don't see whats so wrong with the word pity farkel. I think its appropriate for this context, because assuming she/he/ was genuine, i can identify with her/his situation, and feel sad that i or anyone else here for that matter cannot change their point of view despite our best efforts, and that this person will continue living only half their life, if that.
if i felt, by being a JW this person was a 'loser' than that means i have at some stage also been a loser.
noun
1. sympathetic or kindly sorrow evoked by the suffering, distress, or misfortune of another, often leading one to give relief or aid or to show mercy: to feel pity for astarving child. 2. a cause or reason for pity, sorrow, or regret: What a pity you could not go! –verb (used with object)
3. to feel pity or compassion for; be sorry for; commiserate with. –verb (used without object)
4. to have compassion; feel pity. —Idiom
5. have or take pity. to show mercy or compassion. Quite frankly, i do not care enough to discuss this further, but the above i feel defines how exactly i meant the word to be taken.

Is it worth upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7?
by nicolaou ini'm running vista home premium on my dell inspiron.
dell custom build to your requirements and i went for 4gb of ram from the start (almost 2 years ago).
i know vista has been much maligned but honestly, i've had no problems with it.

There is nothing wrong with copping a feel of some nipple, however feeling like one is a different story.
