I have seen it presented that the Greek "unlettered and ordinary" meant illiterate. They just want witnesses to be like those folks. And then if they need to write a bible book like those "illiterate" guys did, it will be a miracle!!

And I, as well as others here I am sure, can agree, this view of hard work is portrayed for the reason of giving witnesses a reason to judge each other. In other words "he's not at meeting, he works pretty hard, he's a sinner" that in turn makes them fear recieving the judgement they are heaping on others. Its a cycle of F.O.G. I say I need to miss meeting for work stuff, but it's not really true, I just want to kill myself sitting through another ever mind numbing "beeting". So work becomes a nice excuse, I am sure that is why most of us faders do that, no one is really working lol. Just a "Get out of meeting free card".

Disgusting.

I love what I do, I have been criticized by m family for having things and living my work. But I have an awesome job, at the same time they say its like Im always on vacation. Because I am not a victim trying to be miserable. I work with amazing people, my day to day is always exciting, fulfilling, I had terrible jobs when I was younger, but i was living the witness mindset. I will answer emails day and night, my team is awesome and I would say I probably work a lot less harder than any window washer, janitor, part time whatever witness. I mix my play and work back and forth, somedays im in the office I am having fun, somedays im on and island or boat but still working to some degree. They portray a "career" as so evil.

considering the fact that the wt society refuses to release in courts any of it's written directions to elders through confidential letters to elder bodies- i thought i'd do the courts and wt society a "favor " by posting excerpts from this oct 1st.

2012 letter from the wt society to all bodies of elders.

these instructions are very exposing of the negligence of wt authorities in how they view the seriousness of felony child abuse.

Just read the letter. Still floored my brother in chewing me out said "I know for a FACT! no one who has ever been involved in child abuse will serve EVER!".

It's all about appearances

so far i've managed to keep service time to a minimum and i don't put my hand up to comment at the meetings and already certain ones are distancing themselves or not talking to me at all, i have to laugh!.

i wonder if they think i've commited a serious sin well sorry to burst their bubble i haven't, well not yet anyway lol.. i find it funny everything is measured on what they see, but yet i have too but my faith in 8 guys who i don't know or have never met, too stand a chance of everlasting life.. there was a part in the watchtower this afternoon saying we should be thankful we are 1 in 1000 of people in the world who have accurate knowledge, give me a break..

Its about who can act the most brainwashed and kiss the most ass, I was never a good ass kisser so I always fell short of making MS. I made it to the point of them offering it to me. I saw horrible people being appointed. And a lot of old school elders which i have been close to in halls in three different states, they don't give a rats ass about anyone... they are smug... they don't even sit through the meetings, most the time the elders are off talking to each other about god knows what unless they have a part... their parts are phoned in totally... Most have no field service presence... they just work work work. I have known plenty that were alcoholics, (dont get me wrong I love to party), You think getting to the top is some kind of highly enlightened person. Nope. Just big ego'd small d%$#k men tripping in their sad little club.

I now take pride in my minimal contribution to this nonsense. I had some bethelites and other friends (MS and Pioneer over) and it stuns me how negative they talk about their "brothers and sisters" the whole time I keep my mouth shut, and I know my wife sees it. When you pull out of this wacky cult you become so much more positive, less judgmental, and so on.

when my wife just does not get it & i don't know if she ever will.

marriage is great for the most part, but this religion is starting to drive a wedge between us & it really sucks!

It's not easy. It has been so destructive to us too. And now my family. I know for me there was a time I probably would have reacted the same why to myself (even though I was never as bad as wife and family I followed cult rules). I've reduced myself just to meetings, I thought it felt like I was wasting my life while before I was awake... now? oh my... I really feel drained by the meetings, all the retarded cognitive bias rhetoric I have no idea how I ever sat through any of it.

All the brainwashed elders giving the same parts, same info, you can sense their strong brainwashed conviction but also total apathy towards it at the same time.

Just start taking pride in your status, feel enlightened amongst the blinded. It will help you cope some

i know we have all discussed at length the account / story of lot.... another thought occurred to me today...lets analyse his real personality,.

in the very beginning of the account, lot is shown to be a selfish man...one that chose the better land and area..... then he was opportunistic and materialistic and kept living in a nice city, even though he was supposedly shocked by the immorality and lawlessness..... then we see him to be cowardly when he decided to send out his daughters to be pack raped.. later we learn he was heartless as he allowed his wife to turn around and look, and didnt protect her from doing so.. then we know he was lacking in self control and allowed himself to get drunk...twice.. then we know he was dismissive and unrestrained and a general sicko when he had sex with his daughters...twice in a row!.

oh, but no...lets all praise him for being a righteous man.????!!!.

Belief doesn't make you a better person, your behavior does.

this is why the bible us a crock.

it all ends with "belief", you can be an ass hole and have strong belief and your good. But if you are the best person and choose not to believe. There is no hope for you.

Not sure cappytan they are all (including my wife) talking behind my back and no one is speaking to me either way. I will go on. Bridges burn tables turn you live and you learn. I'd never choose to leave my own family. But this is getting quickly out of my hands. I won't make it easy for them.

Please Focus on the Bible

hi people, may i firstly thank those who have responded to to my intro article, i am replying to you all as a new topic because the direct messaging is not working for me at the moment so i can clarify my perspective on bible study.

yes there are many arguments that are put forward to demonstrate for example that the bible has been composed of numerous preexisting creation story's ect, my focus is to give the bible the same opportunity to defend itself as anyone reasonably expects if charged with some crime they are not guilty of.. i find for example the account of jesus response when questioned about the divorce certificate 'but it was not so in the beginning' confirms that moses allowed changes to be made to the original, that said consider also the religious traditions moses people had been exposed to, the story of the god enki who seduced even his own grandchildren and the well known incest of the egyptian royalty, given the genetic cost, are such practices any more right now than they were then?

communities that practice close relative marriages today are well documented for there higher risk of numerous health problems so how would you find moses on that basis, guilty or not guilty as jesus did because he understood why moses took the creation story's of other cultures and gave his people there own creation story that taught them to avoid the general pagan practice of incest.before looking any deeper at moses creation story may i also ask the question why does jesus knowing that god promised he would never again destroy the world by a flood as he did in noah's day say 'as in the days of noah ..the flood came and took them all away' so what did jesus actually mean mt 24:.
