  The Watchtower logically prefers everyone that knows TTATT to disfellowship themselves

  every active jw that stays in hiding their knowledge about ttatt is a hole in the watchtower wall.

  i propose those who can stay in, should, especially if they have high positions.

  how else can we know what they are up to?

  I think when people in my new hall see "no participation, no donations, no field service, & no Ministry School. And NO association!" They are afraid of me, but then some see I'm not the devil and I am a happy kind person. I think there will be more of us as this org goes wacky, and others will see that you wont catch on fire if you check out of this crap. And its not my mission to stay in, just stuck. But plan on cutting meetings at some point.

  Its the same crap over and over and over, for years. The speakers are generally not really qualified to speak publicly and sound very indifferent about the talks they give. Thats why it seems like such a charge when a CO comes to visit, they have energy and are trying to indoctrinate people, not just get it over with.

  The watchtower is way too long, beating these things out into an hour is painful at best.

  The whole theocratic ministry school has become pointless. How much do you really need to talk about this crap? Besides standing by a cart and early morning magazine carpeting needs little training. Also I think its a testament to how this is a waste, ask a JW at a cart a tough question and see how equipped they are.

  I regret all the time ive wasted at meeting, service, and assemblies. And the time I will continue to waste at meetings and assemblies ( no more service for me) in the future for my wifes sake.

  I think this is a new era for that, I remember when I would have doubts in the past when I was in and doing as well as I could, it would be presented to me that if I didn't think it was gods org I should leave, suggesting that I shouldn't let them hold me back from being an immoral person.

  So I always had that hanging over my head that to leave meant you really had to leave all the way, until this time in my life where I realized thats not necessary. I would love to leave all the way, but the cult will cut me off from my family, so this is an unfortunate problem with their cult control model in the information age. They want to DF, us TTATT folks can't fully leave then we'll weaken it from the inside out.

  The beginning of the end for shunning?

  the borg seem to prepare for changes by missing explanations out for a while then presenting a "new understanding" which doesn't contradict the most recent discussion.check out the most recent references to gog - no identification as satan.. in today's wt study, paragraph 15 concerning benefitting from the prodigal son stated "if we meet a person who has strayed from the congregation, will we offer loving and practical help to assist him to return?

  " there is no footnote or other qualifier saying not to go to disfellowshipped ones (who are definitely the ones being talked about) which is still the official policy.

  i know this isn't an ending to shunning, but it may signal the start of the preparation for a change.

  DFing will not go, too important to the cult model, however, my jaw was on the floor during this study, all the comments from the elders etc portrayed it in a way that to an outsider would make it appear that no matter what when you step foot back into the hall everyone is welcoming you back. Its all perception. Clearly they are talking about left, but not DF'd, and when DFing was implied they would say, referring to the prodigal son... "he had to have a very difficult embarrassing journey back home" in that "Journey" would be all the BS one would have to go through to get reinstated before being shown real welcoming arms or love. Or that When they come back god is happy and welcomes them... just takes the elders a while to see if they really mean it...

  What comforts you when you no longer believe in a ressurrection ?

  our family just lost someone dear and very close, a faithful jw.

  as we went through the entire funeral services and meeting long time brothers and sisters, who in general have been very kind and warm towards us, we realize that the hope of resurrection is a meaningless utopia for us, like a fairytale for little children.

  we don't have faith in it anymore, and serves us of no comfort.

  You are correct, sometimes it is fun to entertain ideas, the thing religion doesn't allow you to do is the following..."It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." – AristotleOnce you break the shackles of religion you find you can let your mind entertain many different ideas from probable to radical etc, but are not bound to it being "Belief" or "The Truth!!".   there are a couple of things that helped me, although I never really felt comfort from the idea, i guess 1 part doubt and 1 part I didn't believe I'd be good enough to make it through the big A.

  You need to fully accept the idea its not going to happen, that this is all there is, we are conditioned to feel this is a morbid idea, but it really isn't. Once you break through and believe that, you get a feeling of peace with the idea. And you start living. You realize life is amazing, and your time is precious, the ones around you are special and you take everything for much more of what it is. It gives you so much more to "live" for.

  Also you need to drop the idea of looking for comfort from an idea/answer... religion has conditioned us that there is 100% answer to everything and there just isn't. You need to get a zen like mentality that you are not in control, and you can't know all the answers so stop worrying and start living. Come to terms with this is it, and no one knows what happens when you die. Maybe you just cease to exist except in memories and legacy, or maybe you wake up from a dream in another reality, or maybe on a paradise earth, no one knows and we can't and wont know so just wait until you get there. It's hard to explain the enlightenment and peace you feel when you live this way, most witnesses will think it is trivial shallow existence because thats what we were taught, when its the contrary. You don't know what life is until you see its value this way.
