Stray Cats & Farkel; Life is Good
by onacruse inwell, katie and i just got suckered into adopting a stray cat (we are sorely tempted to name him farkel, but the kitty is way too cute for that) .

What Mennonites Are Thinking; Compare the WTS
by onacruse inmennonites (about 1,000,000 worldwide) and the amish share a common anabaptist theology, but with several conservative-liberal distinctions.
somebody who can't "cut it" as a member of the amish community frequently jumps over to a more liberal (though theologically similar) mennonite group.
therefore i thought the following remark from what mennonites are thinking 1999 was interesting (p. 83):in north america, the membership in the old order and conservative [mennonite] groups will surpass that of the more modern "mainstream" groups by the year 2005, according to best estimates.

Maybe the WTS got some ideas from the Methodists?
by onacruse in) the book of discipline of the united methodist church (1996)(pp.
while primary responsibility and initiative rests with each professing member faithfully to perform the vows of the baptismal covenant that have been solemnly assumed, if the professed member should be neglectful of that responsibility, these procedures shall be followed:.
(1) if a professed member residing in the community is negligent of the vows or is regularly absent from the worship of the church without valid reason, the pastor and the membership secretary shall report that professed member's name to the church council, which shall do all in its power to reenlist the professed member in the active fellowship of the church.

WTS Subtle-Speak
by onacruse inwts publications are riddled with subtle innuendos, subliminal messages, and bait & switch.
i just randomly grabbed the 4/1/03 issue of the watchtower, confident that i would find examples; i was not disappointed.
the article "exhibit 'all mildness toward all men' " discusses titus 3:1, 2 in four areas--in the family, in the ministry, in the congregation, and toward all men.

Jst2laws, Hope Your Surgery Goes Well!
by onacruse inhand surgery may not be the worst, but for a right-handed man to be without full use of his right hand for 6 weeks, well, all i can is:.
joy, i hope you have your "patience" cap handy.
there's no patient more irascible than a hubby, eh?

Valis: Hugs and Kisses ;)
by onacruse inhey dude, i also miss our chats!
you, joy2bfree, lyineyes, and a lot, lot, lot of others really opened my heart this last summer and fall.. frankly, i've been struggling lately...life with katie is so good, but the life stories of all the new people that come to this board every day make me feel so sad, angry, hateful toward the wts...and counting my own blessings.
i'm in a bit of a spin; i've had to step back a bit and catch my breath.
