this is a hypothetical question, so there are no "right" or "wrong" answers.. let's suppose that the wts wanted to test the loyalty of current baptized members.
in particular, the ones who were baptized before the new baptism questions that were introduced in 1985.. what if it became a requirement for people to re-submit to baptism using the new "vows" whenever they modified the baptism questions.
if anyone declined, they would be considered "disassociated", with all the consequences incumbent with that.. how many dubs would follow through??.

I am TRULY glad that when I was baptized in 1962 there were no such "terms of loyalty" to the Org. Heck, they didn't even have pre-baptismal questions then, just a nod from the congregation servant.
OTOH, I don't think that very many JWs would have a problem with re-baptism under the "new" terms. No JW I have talked with even knew that the terminology had changed!

This saddens me. Much as I deplore many of the things JWs believe and do, such personal attacks are never justifiable. The hypocrisy of so-called Christians assaulting precious men, women and children makes a laughing-stock of the Golden Rule. Reminds me of the Crusades and Inquisition.

since i have been posting on this site i found a lot of posts interesting and vice versa,but i have also noticed that cetain ones on here arent helping themselves by continually looking at faults in their former beliefs,i find that this cant help you as a victim, im not saying i am not guilty of doing this i did do it at first but then realised it wasnt helping me overcome the trauma of my former beliefs, surely by trying to focus on the future and on how you can improve your state of mind maybe by self help books,counselling,and maybe speaking to ones on here who can possibly help you get through what they have been through, i mean surely you want to break free from the chains you used to be in.. dont get me wrong im not being harsh but only trying to help others,i mean jw.com is an open discussion forum to a degree,i also find it enjoyable on here,sometimes its not enjoyable because certain individuals are quite negative about views they dont agree on and i do expect that.. so has jw.com helped you or hasnt it.. are you addicted to this site and cant live without it.. also i do tend to take my previous beliefs lightly and have a joke about the things that were taught and went on,i try not to take it to serious at least im free from it and have my own mind that makes me so happy.
Without this forum, and the wonderful support of everyone here, I would still be wallowing in my own self-pity.

Spider: I've been in construction for 30 years. Got my left hand tangled up in a table saw in the early 90s, had a year of reconstructive surgeries. Went to college as a midlife career change, to get a BS in Civil Engineering. Halfway there. Right now I'm a jobsite superintendent with an MBWA (=management by walking around). College, and especially the humanities courses, was one of the best things I ever did. Always thought I was fairly smart, but only when I went to college did I realize that, in so many ways, I was really dumb as a post. I swear I'm gonna keep going to school until the day I die.
