i am now 31 and after leaving the "truth" in my teenage years i was plagued with anger towards the organization as well as christianity in general.
has anyone come to read the teachings of the buddha and found them a refreshing and eye opening insight into the nature of reality?
not long ago i picked up a book entitled "awakening the buddha within", and have found spirituality in a way that i could never find in the jehovah's witnesses organization.
To be fair, I think some Christians (as may be found on this board) have found a Christ-centric spirituality free from that fear - though in my experience that's still pretty new to me.
That would be me. I looked at Buddhism a little and found it to be a little too man made for me (like inventing something that sounded good.) I'll never again say that I know it all. That was just my breif experience with Buddhism.
i saw the funniest thing in a second hand book store i was in last night.... a second hand copy "the greatest man" book for sale, for r 49.50 (about $7 )and guess what... the inscription in the book was "dear mom, merry christmas, with love from chantel".
oh the irony - i did have a laugh!.

adults who teach their children the santa lie expect that their kids will some day realize that santa is not real.
therefore, it could be argued that adults who believe in god are no different than these children who believe in something that's not reality.
these believing adults just haven't realized the truth yet.
My thought: That reasoning would only valid if there was no God.

i think the arrival of 2014 will be a disturbing event for many jw's.
That makes me 32. I will have finished my degree. I'll be a high school art teacher.
I'll probably be pregnant. (at least I hope so -- if not, I hope I have a newborn!)
