now, i have never gotten around to going to a book store and actually buying a childrens bible story book from the shops (yes...i still have a bit of a mental block and some deep seated issues about any religious literature).

my mom gave my kids a copy of the bible story book, as well as listening to the great teacher (the new soft cover book - think it is called that?

I have found that these are really nice and kid friendly. There are questions where the book tells you to tell the kids about a time when (insert here some story about your childhood.) I wouldn't recommend this one if the kid doesn't have a mom though. It says "Mom, tell your son about a time when .....)

There's a whole series from Carolyn Larsen that are great. There are ones like "Grandma's special stories for Little Boys" (or one for girls too)

Order it from Amazon and forget the trip to the bookstore... :)

i have received the most beautiful cards & pictures, poems, tea,ornaments & such lovely compliments from each & every one of you.. i was going to write those i didnt send cards to ...but there was so many ,i really couldnt.

my heart was filled as i read each & every one of them.

as you all know i lost my hubby,& 3 kids in death, one daughter to the wt & grand-children.. as i read all of them i couldnt help thinking of job---he lost lots -but regained more.

What are you going to teach your children about relgion?

My husband asked what happened and she said that our three year old kept putting his hands over his ears and talking out loud. (gotta love it)

I never understood why I would go from having one religion who told me what to believe to another one who would interpret the Bible for me. Sola Scriptura !!

Buy a donkey for Christmas

it is often difficult to see past the crass commercialism that is associated with christmas.

instead of buying one another presents, some families collect the money they would have spent on one another and donate it to a genuine charity to enable them to buy a donkey, a well, support for an orphaned child, or some other essential need for villagers in a struggling third world country.

A few months ago Church gave me 225 bucks and a family of 3 kids and asked me to take the kids shopping for school clothes. It was fun and went well. So I had some Christmas money left over and I would love to be Santa for them (Single mom with 3 kids ...) but I can't find her number to save my life. I need to turn my house upside down and find it! I know I left it in a purse when I switched last time....
