I'm about to go read more of the story, but my gut is telling me the girl was white. Her parents probably flipped cos she blew a black boy and called the cops.

The lost generation
by noni1974 indo any of you find it weird that a lot of the ex jw's here and at other sites are in there 30's??.
it's like the jw's have lost a whole generation..

I hadn't really noticed there were that many in their 30's. I only have 5 more months until I move to the next milestone (40---ARGHHHH).
Thinking about it, there are some of my JW friends from my teens who are no longer a JW. I can't know an exact number because I've lost contact with most of them. In our congregation pretty much everyone left or got df'd for fornicating when they were close to 18. It does seem our generation left at a much younger age.

Harassed about filling out new blood card...
by slimboyfat inan elder in my congregation asked me again yesterday, for about the tenth time, whether i have filled out my new blood card yet - is this normal?
it is getting embarrassing as i just keep saying i have not got round to it yet.
i am getting the feeling that it is being used as a sort of loyalty test.

You gotta love that statement about a witness being of sound mind not under duress. Nope, no pressure here to sign their stupid form.Don't you just love how they word things to hold up in the courts? No Judge, this Witness made a personal choice to follow us. Nevermind how it has been drummed into them that there is no salvation without the WT and you will be ostracized for non-compliance. If just one legal precedent could be won.........
Oh, and the "undue influence" phrase is priceless.

When at the convention ; Top reasons for going
by free2beme ini was thinking about this the other day, and wondering what others felt about the district convention.
namely, what was the main thing you wanted from it?
a few i remember were these.. 1. number one every single year was that i wanted new information on when armageddon was coming and how close we were to the end.

Free, I always expected to get some exciting inside information on when Armageddon was coming. It was always said to be "very soon". Of course usually all I ever learned was that everything I enjoyed was a vile sin (I am a HUGE music fan--big NO-NO)
The only real reason I looked forward to them was BOYS. I met loads of them--but the ones I was attracted to were always "too worldly", according to Mom. The hot ones were always worldly. It was the ONLY social event we had. Thinking back kinda makes my skin crawl.

How old was Bethany? I'm guessing under 18. In the US anyone under 18 cannot sign a legal contract but are at an age of understanding at about 16.
But if the child was BRAINWASHED would that throw a wrench in the monkeyworks? If anyone ever gets a viable lawsuit against those bastards I AM SO THERE.

I fired the Watchtower Society

we were eating together.

Leftbehind,
Bless your heart! Make sure you let us know when you need to vent. Choosing between a blood-relative and a man-made religion causes undue stress.
Grissom, piss off.

Will Bill Gates be destroyed at Armageddon?
by Virgochik ini just watched the wgn- chicago evening news.
i was so moved by the segment on the gates foundation.
bill and melinda gates have already donated 10 billion dollars to charity.

Bill Gates, gotta love him. The only time I cuss him is when I have puter troubles, then I can blame him. Of course he did kinda screw the apple friend he had.
I'm thinking Bill Gates was important to the imformation age. We are all here sharing stories and experiences. Finding out "secrets" that were meant to be hidden.
The WT hates Bill Gates technology, so that makes me tip my hat to him.

Chest pain
by MsMcDucket intoday, i didn't go in to work because i wasn't feeling well.
it wasn't from the cognac that i was drinking last night.
this has been going on for some time now.

MsMcD,
So glad you are getting that checked out.
My Dad had a heart attack last week, but he had no chest-pain. He thought his stomach was upset, too. A couple of days after the stomach pain started, he got weak and dizzy. We took him to emergency, they said he had a heart attack. He had also had leg pain for 2 years (My dad hates doctors). So he probably has clogged arteries. They are checking that out also.
This is nothing to play with, as I'm sure you know. I'll be wishing you well. Take care of yourself!!!
