  i totally discovered ttat in 2004.. at first, i told my jw relatives each & every thing i found out.

  they didn't appreaciate it.. then, i read coc and realized that that was the wrong approach.

  so, from about 2007-2013, i rarely said anything to them abou the jws.. well, i just don't care any more to pussy foot around them, making nice, and smiling.

  Nope, not this last time, and I just don't care! Haven't been unfriended on Facebook, either.

  Last time I said something about TTATT, they said that they agreed with me (on pedophilia), a few years later. So, I know they listen.

  At first, I told my JW relatives each & every thing I found out. They didn't appreaciate it.

  Then, I read COC and realized that that was the wrong approach. So, from about 2007-2013, I rarely said anything to them abou the JWs.

  Well, I just don't care any more to pussy foot around them, making nice, and smiling. When the tithing change happened, i told them what I thought. I told them it was a cult. I told them of the WTS changes, the control, and I'm not buying it. I don't give a sh*t anymore what others think. I'm being ME and they are going to know where I stand. When I cow tip around them, then they think I am in, somehow, agreement with the WTS. The WTS is not going to control me into tiptoeing.

  What's funny is our family is mainly non-JWs, and if everyone would say something then these few people might snap out of it. Or, they'd realize that we don't like the WTS. IN the end, I don't really care if they come out or not. But, I'm not going to pretend any more!

  Just like Phil Collins, I don't care anymore, what you say. I never did believe you much anyway.

  Anyone else get to this stage? The stage of being an old codger who just says what they want?

  it was a long time coming for me.....when i read about the extened generations, after being raised on1914 being the be all end all, and millions would never die....that was the end.

  i was part of the 1975 fiasco, the 6 month only truth book studies, suffered through a disifellowshipping and their version of a rewind.

  i finally am free and hope others can eventually look in instead of inside looking out!

  So cool, that alot of you came out with the overlapping generation. When that change came out, posters on .jwn knew it was going to wake up alot of folks. It did!

  i just got back from the district convention and watched the new video.

  can't remember what it is called but the main family live in a million dollar home and there teenage daughter drives a red convertable sports car.

  probably worth about 50000$.

  Is the writer of this thread joking? Seriously, this type of message just can't be coming from the WTS. It's an about face and completely against JWism. If it is true, then they are trying to rebrand. They are also trying to raise the ideals for their followers, perhaps, make the followers richer and the WTS will be richer.

  Is the Watchtower taking a page out of Scientology. Perhaps a GB member said, "Hey, why should we take all these poor shmucks as followers. Let's target the rich ones."

  I was in the Boca Raton congregation in the early to mid 80's (time of Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous, Material Girl, and Miami Vice). The elders told our congregation to not flaunt our wealth, if we had any (most were upper middle class) at any convention or even within the congregation as the love of "big" things was loving this world and being materialisitc. Those without a BMW or Mecedes, talked about the ones in the congregation that had one. Or, lived in Boca's exclusive communities. They were viewed as needing to change their apparearance, so as not to 'stumble' others.

  I also remember a WT article on being a slave to fashion. It showed materialism.

  I think this video is going to stumble the long term humble.

  Anyway, let me know when the cruise ship shows up, the Governing Body starts wearing strange clothes, and the William's sisters start jumping up & down on Oprah's couch screaming they are "happy." Perhaps the JWs and Scientology will merge.

  First wake up. When an elder who was a doctor told me that I shouldn't have college hopes becuase this system was going to end. It was 1985.

  My final WTF was when I found some misquotes. Bad ones. Totally taken out of context. I thought, "The Truth is a L-I-E."

  Science is advancing, and the doctors must feel confident that they can do this. But, it is a pure experiment. Why isn't the Armed Forces doing this on soldiers, first, rather than subject the general population?

  I wonder how many of the gunshot wound victims are inner city people. Where's the exact waiver that the person signs? i don't see how a mass notice in newspapers and advertising can take away one's right to informative choice of a medical procedure that is this experimental and potentially dangerous. I think too much could go wrong, and too much is unknown. Without individualized informed consent, this can be viewed as doctors preying on the poor. I can see the tort attorneys making a killing on this, even if there is only a "little" brain/nerve/kidney/heart/organ damage.

  Another angle. Would the WTS allow JW doctors/nurses to, basically, kill the patient? Is that murder? There's a possibility that the person will be revived, but it isn't 100%. Is it suicide for a follower to subject themselves to it? It's different than going to sleep, it's a complete bloodletting. I would think JWs would be against this. Blood has to be returned to the ground, and not the body. If JWs can't save their own blood in advance of a surgery, how can they do this? Oh, I forgot, the WTS allows "current therapy" of one's own blood for medical tests. Call it "current therapy" and the JWs can then be bloodletted and have it all put back into them.

  New Leaflet to give to JW about TTATT

  hi to all my fellows "apostates" in all world... especially in e.u.a.

  and uk.. as some of you already know, ex-jw in portugal created a leaflet especialy to send to jw in all the country (individualy or to congregations).

  we must say that it was a sucess from the point of view of the impact originated.

  A JW woman/relative told me that back in the late 60's, the JWs would go to the Go-Go dance clubs. Her husband "made" her go. She walked out when she saw the dancers with covering on their nipples only. Her husband and the others stayed, and reasoned that the dancers were not naked so it was art. Husband was later disfellowshipped for other reasons, and the whole congregation was closed. No one was disfellowshipped for going to a "go-go".
