Get sick. Say you have anything bad, but just don't go! Strep throat is a good one, becuase it is highly contageous and there are oftentimes no outward signs. Bad taste in your mouth, stomach ache, and bad headache. Go to doctor and tell him that someone in your family has strep and you have these symptoms coming on. Right before the weekend, and my doctor will give me a "Z-pack" dose, just in case... Come home with a z-pack, doctors note, and just lay in front of the TV, unwilling to move.

Big fan of Robin Williams.
Nano, Nano. Good Morning Vietnam!!!
Mrs. Doubtfire, Awakenings, A Beautiful Mind, Dead Poets Society, and, of course, Good Will Hunting.
I also liked him in Aladin. Just a cut up there.
And, the World According to Garp wasn't his greatest, but it was quirky.

"We're calling on your neighbours to promote a website"
by Simon inwow, it's true - they don't call to 'promote god's kingdom' anymore but just their website!.
we just had an old lady call and tell us that was exactly what they were doing and it has "lots of good things on their for children".

You should meet Brother Smart Engineer
by garyneal inmy wife, who now thinks i am not competent enough to discuss spiritual matters with the kids, thinks that i could really benefit from discussing matters of the bible with this nasa engineer who attends meetings at her kingdom hall.
apparently, he is quite knowledgeable in the bible and has a good grasp of their doctrines.
at least according to her as i never actually spoken with the man at length but i do know that he is an elder.

Ah, she's setting up a play date for you! My sort-of JW sister tried that. I told her that, because I'm an apostate and speak against the JWs, I couldn't meet with her JW friend (high school math teacher). I'd get her friend in trouble if the elders found out that she was associating with me. Plus, her dad is an elder. I never heard about the woman again, until my BIL mentioned that she's a wack-job and on psycho drugs to keep her from cracking up to the pistachio house. Apparently, BIL tried to tell my sort-of JW sister that her friend was flying without a full quart or oil. That led to a fight, until my sort-of JW sister figured out that her friend had issues.
In short, I think if you look deep enough into the engineer, you'll find that he had issues before joining the cult. He probably still does have these issues.
Here's my devil made me do it side. Get to know him and then secretely invite him to a really nice strip club, and see if he agrees to do it. (he, he). Porno isn't against the religion's tenants, unless it's gross pornography. But, the R&F don't think this is the policy. Elders can be darn hypocrites! See if he'll go, and then agree to meet him at the strip club's parking lot. Drive separately, but take your wife with you. Don't tell her where you are going. This will help your wife see through the bullshit of the religion!

I think it's rather clever. Most people at the door do not want to talk about Jehovah, Jesus, Bible, religion, etc. They are through with it. Now, how will they respond to "a website"? Probably, not as immediate of a rejection. I've venture to say that most are going to not want to go further once they figure out it's just the JWs. Kind of like when you find what looks to be a real journalism article, only to find it's a article advertisement. There are going to be a few who will look at the website, and likely agree with the more mundane parts/opinions of the JWs. But, when the rubber meets the road, there isn't going to be a hell of a lot of new converts. They will google to figure out it's just a doomsday sect/cult And, it takes people to convert others into a cult. There has to be group indoctrination, groupthink, groupact, etc. Cult conversion doesn't happen with a website.
Both Scientology and the Mormon website have a "Meet a Scientologist" and "Meet a Mormon" Why? Becuase they know that people join for friendships. It's kind of sexy too, like Match.com! Sexy Mormons pop up, all wanting to meet Skeeter1! Scientology has videos of interesting members. The JWs have "Want a Bible Study?" No one wants a Bible study!!! Instead, they want cool friends!

Officially parting ways : (
by Batman89 insome of you might remember my first post on here about my dilemma of whether or not to remain in a relationship with my jw girlfriend after learning ttatt http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/experiences/278710/1/im-new-and-need-help#.u-kltpldvyq.
while we were taking a break, well it turned out to be not very much of a break because of our still strong feeling for each other (we eventually went from talking every few weeks to once a week and then to everyday again) and things started to get complicated.
well last night we officially decided that it would be best for the both of us to at least part ways for now and end things.

Our 4 year old dog didn't like our first baby. Sulked for 6 months. Dog gave us the "eat s*it look" too. So, I never left the baby and dog together. But, when baby turned 6 months old and started dropping food, then the dog and baby bonded. Inseperable after that. And, dog immediately loved second baby. Still, I don't leave a dog with a baby. I don't care the breed, it's not a good idea. They are all mini-wolves in sheep's clothing.
