I would just say to a hard core JW that I remember Jesus at every meal. It was never commanded to do it once a year (that i could find). So, I thank God every time I put food in my mouth. Then, I make a deal with the Devil every morning to lose 20 pounds.

Marked. Some hardcore JWs will pay anything for the dream of living forever and having instant friends. But, I think we're about to see some fallout from this change. The few JWs I know are not in any position to give alot of money every month.

Sounds like a smart kid. I hope he continues his love of science and technology, and actually goes to college. That will change his future for the best.

p.s. And, perhaps he will wake up from the cult.

Which of the SEVEN stages of post JW behavior are you in right now?

I had a different order of post JW behavior.
1. They done me & EVERYONE ELSE wrong.
2. Activism (strategies for informing EVERYBODY of specific harm caused by the JW religion)
3. I'm depressed (JWs who I know will not listen and now they avoid me)
4. I'm gonna act like an apostate (smoke, drink, drugs, sex, outrageous behavior). I skipped this one!
5. Big search/Big decisions (Gee, what IS the truth?)
5. Fear (What if the JW's really DO have the truth?). I skipped this one.
6. Grumbling (permanent bad mood gossip about how lousy JW doctrines are)
7. Strategic Activism (strategies for informing specific groups/iinterested people of specific harm caused by the JW religion)

Handrails!
.......Remember a few years ago, the woman who died at a convention? She was elderly and had to sit in aplace without handrails? She fell & later died. If I remember right, her family was suing the WTS. The case was finally dismissed. The case is now closed. The parties came to an agreement without needing a jury. (Case detailed below. If you want the full details, sign up for a pacer.gov account. There, you can read federal court cases with the Watchtower as a party. Free usage for lower volume, and fees apply if you become a moderate/heavy user)
So, now, Jehovah provides handrails and a nice place to sit! How nice and loving of Him to do that!
***Below is from an older post of mine about this case********
There is a new lawsuit filed against the Watchtower. The case is 12-1641 United States District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana ("Maddox v. Integro Insurance Brokers, Christian Congregation of New York, Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witneses, Inc. and Victors").
From reading some of the court documents, this is what I gather happened...
A JW couple, the Victors, drove an elderly person to the District Convention. The DC was at apparently at the Mitchell Center at the University of South Alabama on July 1-3, 2011,
At the DC, the Victors and elderly woman tried to find a seat for in the elderly section at the bottom floor. But the attendant said that there was no seat. So, they went back into the stands and found a seat. Unfortunately, when the group left taking the stairs, the elderly woman slipped and fell. The injuries led to her death. Her family is now suing the WTS & the JWs who took her to the convention.
The lawsuit appears to be suing under the American with Disability/Fair access type laws, as well as tort laws, requiring special care and access for anyone who needs it."

Did You Ever Feel Guilty Because You Deserted The JW Religion?
by minimus inonce i left, i never yearned for anything associated with the religion.
i didn't miss their doctrines, their erroneous thinking.
i never felt guilty because i abandoned the religion i was raised in.. i believe the reason for my not feeling guilty is pretty simple.
-

No. I thought the WTS owed everyone a huge apology and should feel real guilty.
