  they tell jws to use the word "because" when explaining why they're at the homeowner's door.

  What the video teaches me: God is in control of our world, from day-to-day. God is all-powerful (at least as far as human life and activity is concerned.... and, really, what else matters to us?). God has an agenda. Unfortunately for us, God seems to be mean-spirited and evil; and his name is presumed to be "Satan". [That last bit is not explicit in the video; but the trail leads there.]

  The lesson? Best to learn to work with the God "we" have. Get in line with the agenda, maybe we'll be better off in the world that exists.

  Do you think that was the intended message?

  i ask this respectfully, and do so after watching a favorite show of mine's season opener which had a new years storyline.

  hollywood tends to make movies and television show episodes centered around holiday themes appear warm and blissful.

  while i'm thankful to have never participated in such holidays, i can't deny my curiosity about ex-jws that do celebrate.

  To answer your question, SFPW -

  Although having left the JW religion in body and mind, I am evidently still a JW at heart - here's why.

  Since I am not bound to any cultural or religious tradition (they were stripped from my birthright, before I was conceived), I am free to adopt any celebration I choose.

  Yet, I continue to experience each one of the year's 365 days as just as dour and uneventful as the other... just as they were during those years, wrapped in the JW-shroud.

  The exception being that I no longer consider myself special, set apart for honourable use, for having the fortitude and strength of mind to drain every day of its natural colour (i.e., the joy of life).

  after some considerable thought i have decided that i will no longer post on this forum because i want to return to jehovah.

  my dad started molesting me when i was 3 years old.

  he physically molested me until i was 16 and we moved into a new house where i had a lock on my door.

  Which country is better to migrate Canada or Australia?

  i am sure nowhere is perfect but if we want to compare these two countries from different prospectives like racism, job, income/spending, quality of life, standard of living etc.

  can you please give me a rough idea by sharing your experiences.. .

  by the way, i am considering applying for a masters progrmme in any of the two countries.. .
