I'm pretty sure JW's can serve on a jury. I knew an elder's wife who was on one for quite some time. They were decent enough as well(the elder and his wife). I know that in some instances their religious "principles" might rule them out as far as being selected as a juror. Might be one of those conscience things too though I do not see how it could be ruled out biblically.

my younger sister was allowed too: have new kids on the block posters on her wall, as well as gotten taken to a nkotb concert... have & play a keyboard.
pick her own music, & have a boom box in her room.

This is hardly a JW thing. I'm pretty sure that it works out that way most of the time. People usually have higher standards and expectations for their older kids. Incorporated into the cult's lifestyle it probably is just a bit more prominent. Sure, it isn't fair. But only one half is complaining aren't they? I'm a middle kid. Trust me, we get screwed the most.

reading hellriders topic made me wonder about this.. i waited till i was 21 because i was drinking alcohol as a youth and didn't want to get baptized while breaking the law.
man that is screwed up, seemed reasonable at the time.

i served as the presiding overseer for 10 years, and as chairman and media spokes-person for a particular region.
during my time within the organisation that being almost 30 years, i have concluded that there is, as far as my own experience is concerned grave doubt in my mind as to the existence of the devil and his demonic hoard.
