You could pass out "special" notebooks. Hmmm. That is a great idea! With scriptures running at the top of pages like 1 John 4:1; Hebrews 5:14; Galatians 2:1-5...heh-heh...thanks for the idea M.J.

(wsb radio) members of the cobb and forsyth county churches struck by arson overnight have given investigators a lead on a suspect.
I can't really say I understand anyone being in favor of destruction of private property. Those buildings could have been converted in shelters after the Witnesses leave.
It doesn't accomplish anything positive and legally recognized crimes only serve to arouse sympathy for the victims, however much ethical abuse may have been heaped on the perpetrator.

i went shopping last night around 1 in the morning and the late-night crew did all they could to assist me, and they were so nice.
it brings my heart great cheer when strangers show empathy and kindnss, and more so when acquaintances do the same.
i had a very nice phone call with almostatheist last night and he obliged me by letting me ramble on, and i thank him for letting my big mouth blather and blather.

in canada, at least, there is a trend that more and more seats are being reserved for the elderly.
first it started with the ice level.
then the first two rows around the ice level.
I have to say I think the internet is a big influence on people leaving.

hello everyone.
have recently met someone, amazing person!
however have many questions about jw's and wt.
BTW, it is only fair to make sure you know that this is not a board full of Jehovah's Witnesses. We will answer any of your questions as fairly and completely as we can.

after years of being a jw, im now on the outside and i question everything.
one thing i cant deny though is that jehovah is god.
my doubt now is, was jesus just tagged on as a reason to create christianity.
In my opinion? No more than water exists without hydrogen.

it seems that when a person leaves jw's, there's just no telling where he'll end up spiritually.
christian, jew, pagan, jamesthomasism -- i dare say every faith is represented among us.. but there are those that reject faith altogether.
they are often accused of letting the watchtower steal god from them, or throwing the baby out with the bath.. are you one those that rejected faith altogether after your exit?
FunkyDerek, an emotion is a feeling, a feeling is an emotion. That is a circular definition and therefore a fallacious definition, a word cannot be defined by its synonym. Neither is objectively defined, all emotions and feelings are subjective and their definitions are subjective.
Even reproducible emotions (like anger, or happiness) are ultimately subjective because they rely on the one who is experiencing them to relate that experience, they cannot be assessed in a NPOV fashion in any respect.
I believe that no emotion is falsifiable, no emotion is exclusive of other emotions, and no emotion is singularly experienced. You wrote, "You're confusing the experience with the definition." I disagree. The "definition" you gave arrives from the experience. In my opinion, you are confusing a description of the experience with a definition of the experience.
But that is the difference. I am stating opinion as unproven opinion. You are stating opinion as proven fact.
