I run in to the Living Room to see certain parts; and then run back to the computer! I loved Morris Day and The Time, too, Minimus. Tina Turner looks good to be 68. I liked the Cirque de Sole (sp?) tribute to the Beatles. I, also, liked Alicia Keyes and John Mayer.

Remember when assemblies were fun?
by Aphrodite ini just remembered when i was a kid and we would go to the assembly, it was fun because we got to buy new clothes and put extra effort into looking good.
when we would get there you could save your seats and even save some for your friends, then go off looking for them.. i used to love our circuit assembly because of the food.
it was at the assembly hall and there was a big kitchen, some of my favourite brothers worked in that kitchen, sometimes i was allowed to go in and help.

Why do you HATE to cook?
by GentlyFeral inme, i love cooking.
hearing someone say "i hate to cook" is like hearing "i hate being literate," or "i hate being able to walk.
" i just don't get it.. but there must be reasons - enlighten me, ok?.

First rock concert
by JK666 ini have recently talked with other members on jwd about the first time they went to a concert.
it was interesting the different choices of artists, and the age we were when we finally went to one.. my first was after i got my driver's license, so i was 16 years old.
i went to see a concert with black oak arkansas, foghat, and montrose (when sammy hagar was just a pup).

My first concert was going to see James Brown. I, probably, was 12 years old. I wasn't a Witness then. I'm not sure about the concert that I went to see after I disassociated myself; but I think it was Ton'e Toni Tony. I had a jamming good time. When I go to concerts, it seems like I'm a different person! I love to hear a live band that's jamming on tight! Oh! Wonderful!

Things You HATED About Being a JW
by minimus inthere were a few things that i hated about being a witness.. i love music and live concerts.
quite often i'd have to play my music privately or hide an album cover for fear it might "stumble" someone.
i hated worrying whether someone was going to somehow get "stumbled.. regarding going to concerts, it seemed that certain artists only came to town on a meeting night and i'd miss the shows.. what did you hate about being a jehovah's witness?.

Not being able to see a decent movie! *&^%
It was either demonized or too sexy! Even Disney movies, cause of the magic, and the animals talking....

I HATED wearing dresses!
I HATED those little talks that were addressed to one person!
I HATE they are, probably, going to be giving a special needs talk since they know that the people will be getting a little more money from the government. Taking the "Widow's mite" so to speak.
And everything that everyone else said, too!

Look at the bible that he shows in this video
by MsMcDucket ini like the song.
it's reggae music for those of you that don't like this type of music.
i was shocked to see a "new world translation".

It's a beautiful song, but yeah, there's also possibly some NWT-inspired lyrics as well:
"Some time I think it's peace and safety / It could be yah for sudden destruction" .... "These are some serious times / All I can see around us is just violence and crime" (= "Critical times hard to deal with will be here, for men will be ... without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness") .... etc.
I wonder if he's studying with the Witnesses or if he IS a Witness?

by bluesbreaker59 ini'm going in for a routine checkup at the behest of my partner.
she was shocked i've never been tested, and i said well i have no symptoms, i wear condoms, and had very few partners, so i didn't think it was necessary.

Well as far as gonorrhea and syphilis go, if you're not walking funny, you, probably, don't have it! But there's often a chance that you could be a *carrier* and would not know you have/had the disease. Chlamyida, usually, doesn't cause symptoms in a male.
