Hormone Hostage
by Simon inevery "hormone hostage" knows that there are days in the month when all a man has to do is open his mouth and he takes his life in his hands.
this is a handy guide that should be as common as a driver's license in the wallet of every husband, boyfriend, or male child.. dangerous: what's for dinner?.
safer: can i help you with dinner?.

SEX 102 Morning Dilemma: If It's Awake, Take a Shower
Interestingly enough, and in contrast with the implication here, I find that it's the ladies who are most interested in sex in the morning. If "it" isn't awake, they will initiate contact (whether or not I'm asleep) to assist it in coming to life. If "it" is awake but I am not, they will continue the tactile sensations until "it" wakes the rest of me up.
Awake and at your service, ma'amzelle...

Hiya, moaner,
you could skip "Real Women Have Curves". Being naturally drawn to that kind of woman, I jumped at the chance to see it when it first came to Dallas. Took a curvaceous cutie with me and strutted right on down to the Angelika. It was a disappointment. Aw, shucks.

Benefits to strengthing SOCIAL ties between us?
by Pathofthorns ini realize my comments are a bit wordy and my thoughts scattered, but i just thought i'd toss this out.
in the past, jw's argued on doctrine and the xjw community argued also on doctrine.
these days many jw's are no longer able to argue their own beliefs and the xjw communty has less interest in discussing jw doctrine or christian doctrine.

Good points, path. You said:
I think we need to focus on ourselves as a distinct evolving culture and strengthen the ties between us and respect our differences if we are to be truly successful in defeating the WT.
I agree with this to some extent. Actually, thanks to the internet, we really ARE a distinct evolving culture; I started with it in January 1997 and I've seen major changes in just that period of time. Strengthening ties by meeting in person is a good idea, too, to the extent possible.
However, I don't define myself by membership in this culture. I am integrating into mainstream society, and doing so fairly successfully. I will always be a part of this culture; but I wouldn't want anyone to rely strictly on friendship from it or membership in it while still remaining aloof from the society of the world at large, of which we are also a part.
As for defeating the WT, I would love to see that happen and I will party in celebration if it does. I offer my support and energy to "the cause" where I think it will do some good, but I'm not looking toward that as a major goal in my life. I'm just living. I believe that it's very important for exJWs to learn how to live as part of the society of humanity, not just a sympathetic subset of it.

i know that the interpretation of this scripture was a bone of contention with some jws.

What "interpretation"? They take the scripture at face value. If there's any discouragement from its message, it comes straight from Jesus.

Singing in the Kingdon Hall - laughing
by Pepper inoh my god, i went to a meeting a year ago, with my girl friend, in a town back east i live in utah, i sing in night clubs and bars and have a really great time.
i go to the hall and it comes time to sing, now i am used to really letting it all hang out when i sing, so i give it all i got, i seen all these's heads turn and look at me, they could tell right off the bat that i am not a good jw cause i have a beard like jesus wears, but i know the tunes because i was raised listioning to them, i loved it, they don't really sing i noticed, its sad, cause singing could be so much a part of worship, but its like you can't even do that cause if your a good singer you might stumble the others cause it may be competion, what a bunch of bs, the po, looked down his nose cause i was singing like i had life in me .

We had one of those old brothers made of iron from back in the old days, a WWII vintage elder. Those guys weren't afraid to sing. This guy couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, but you could hear him braying and bellowing over everybody else in the hall.
Actually, he was a pretty neat guy, for a totally brainwashed type. He wasn't haughty or holier-than-thou, he was kindly and thoughtful. He knew he couldn't sing on key but he told me he sang like that anyway to encourage the friends to go ahead and sing it out even if they didn't sound good. He figured maybe his loudness would cover them up enough that they would get the courage to go ahead and open up. :)
