Could we have an online business?
by Valis ini brought up this topic and so have othwers, but i was reminded by a little bird today that maybe i should bring it up again... lets imagine for a moment we had a consortium where we all did handmade arts/crafts or goods, sold specialty merchandise, performed services like web page construction, website hosting, non-internet types of service business, (no janitorial services please!
*lol*), ebay junk type stuff, whatever.
our consortium would have an online presence, with each vendor having their own page, a highlites page for new products and featured stuff..and a clearinghouse for the monies involved.

Happy Holidays,old friends!(From Essie)
by Primadonna ini'm just 'stopping by briefly' lol to wish happy holidays to old friends who may still be posting/lurking here...so many of you come to my mind on a regular basis, things you've said long ago continue to return to me when i need them and keep me going in a strong, forward direction.
my family continues to be amazed by the fact that four and a half years after my df'ing, i still haven't caved in and gone back.
for me, there is no going back.

Athiests and Christmas?
by clash_city_rockers ini was just thinking.
since christmas is about the birth of christ, i know dec 25 was not his birthday, probly born around late sept or early oct. i guess he wanted to be born right before the baseball playoffs and world series, just kidding.
it was the early christian church that appointed dec 25th.

Christmas violates athiesm!
No, it doesn't.
I guess I need the dogma of atheism reproduced here, schlocker. Whip the whole thing out. Where is the creed by which atheists swear off taking part in Christian celebrations?
Well, I don't need no priest
But I love all of the people
Yes, I share the feast
Drink up my wine
Yes, and the song in my bones"Follow Me Home" - Dire Straits

I've spent the past 17 years of my life waiting for the world to go completely mad. It seems like we're getting nearer and nearer to that.
It looked a lot worse in the 60's than it does now, Dan. And it looked worse during WWII. People survived those times of trial, and the world and life continued on. I started school in 1959, when kids were taught in elementary school how to crouch down facing a wall with our hands over our necks to protect them from flying debris. The schools drilled us in it regularly in anticipation of the inevitable nuclear war with Russia.
Good and bad times come and go. We can't see the future. What we do have in our control is what we do with the present. I will not be caught throwing away perfectly good moments of my life worrying about bad stuff that might happen in the future. I'm using my moments to enjoy life now, while it's happening. Hope you'll see fit to do the same.

When you add or edit a post, you get a toolbar like the one below. First capture the URL of the page you want to embed, and then click on the icon I have circled. You can paste the URL into the popup dialog box it opens, and the forum software will do the rest.

A gramme is better than a damn.Good stuff!
On my bookshelf, as yet pristine but slated for absorption directly, are Steven Hawking's Universe and Stonehenge Decoded.
