  The "Great Crowd" at Rev 19:1,6 are said by JWs to be "angels"

  i don't usually do it anymore (debating with a jw) but my co-worker is a "devout" jws and she just always want to talk about the bible with me.

  i try to avoid her because i just realize it is a "waste" of time trying to show the jws anything negative about the wt society.

  i believe everybody has a right to belong to whichever religion or faith he or she wishes, but talking to a jws about their beliefs just goes in circles.

  Do those of the “great crowd” referred to at Revelation 7:9, 10 also go to heaven?

  The “great crowd in heaven” referred to at Revelation 19:1, 6 is not the same as the “great crowd” of Revelation 7:9 . The ones in heaven are not described as being “out of all nations” or as ascribing their salvation to the Lamb; they are angels. The expression “great crowd” is used in a variety of contexts in the Bible.— Mark 5:24; 6:34; 12:37 .

  Couple of points on this:

  1) Nowhere does it suggest that these are angels, instead when there is an angel it is clearly listed as such.

  So not much help when trying to adamantly state that the "great crowd" are angels.

  2) The “great crowd” references in the NWT of Mark 5:24; 6:34; 12:37 never actually mention the word "great" instead each reference uses the word "large". Not much use then when arguing that the expression "great crowd" is used elsewhere!

  Memorial 2014: Wrong date?

  this was meant to have nice inserted pictures and tidy hyperlinks but the forum's being glitchy today.

  so unfortunately it's going to be a messy post where you're going to have to exercise your tapping fingers and click on the links to the pics to see what i'm referring to.

  i am not a jehovah's witness but i am very interested, i have many questions and hope they can be answered here.. i do believe in god, privately.

  i do say my prayers daily and do believe god helps me in countless ways.

  but i don't go to any church.. i have always been impressed at how smart, polite and nice jehovah's witnesses are and i always make time to speak to them when they call at my door.

  Can heaven itself not have "a great crowd" just as the earth would?

  To the WT, the Great Crowd of Rev 7 is very much on earth so any discussion naturally will focus on their understanding.

  It's important to remember that the Christian Greek scriptures were not written in english but in Greek. And that is where the truth is clearly lies.

  In his Temple (Naos) - Naos means the divine habitation.

  For the great crowd to be on earth, the word for temple here needs to be Heiron. But it isn't.

  One day Assemblies and the removal of the RBC

  so i was at a jw gathering today, and i over heard a brother telling a sister about these new changes.

  according to him, both one day circuit assemblies will be put together on the same weekend, one on saturday, the next on sunday.

  that way the assembly halls could be used to fit in more circuits as they increase in numbers.

  we attended several different congregations in different states, and the one common thread among them all was...if you had your study article highlighted, you were a good jw.. honestly, how often did you cover over your magazine when the attendant walked by handing out copies to visitors?.

  A good line to reason with her on is Christendom versus other faiths, like Islam/Hindus etc.

  Lets assume that Christianity is 'right'. So compared to Islam/Hindu/Buddhism the churches must be fine, because they are more right than the other faiths. The answer is no for a JW, because of what they get wrong.

  On the doors you'd would say 'The Bible says we must worship in spirit and truth' and 'A little leaven ferments the whole lump'. If a faith (Christendom) has false teachings it doesn't matter how 'right' they are, it matters where they are wrong (trinity/hellfire etc.).

  Same logic can be applied to JW's. Doens't matter where they are right (trinity/hellfire etc), what matters is were they are wrong (607/Great Crowd in heave/Blood/Mediator etc.).

  That reasoning might work. Then highlight that 607 being wrong means that a key part of the Kingdom preaching work has been wrong for decades. Would God work like that? That people have to make a life or death decision to accept the Kingdom message when it has a false teaching at its heart?

  worldly women don't all ask you to see her aquarium

  last night i was watching the secret elder's video about the jw who sleeps with a worldly women and i could not stop laughing.. when i was 17 i thought that all worldly women would sleep with anyone, i remember a beautiful neighbor who i tried to kiss and she just flat out said no.

  i tried twice to make out with this girl and i just could not understand why she would not say yes .

  she did not have an aquarium.... .

  Glad to read that BP2. Normal (non-JW) people are so nice.

  Anyway, I just love the idea that 'why don't you come up and see my aquarium sometime' is the new JW euphemism for horny hot fun.

  They really are such dolts.
