what's the main motivating force behind the average jw?.
i'd say it's a fear of their own death.
fear of dying.
I think it's pure self-interest; greed if you will. Most JW's were converted at the lowest point of their life. My mother for instance, was a drugged out hippie down to her last dollar with two kids when Jehoba came a knockin'.
JW's offer desperate people the one thing their miserable lives have never known......hope. The price tag is only revealed later.
i get to buy a new one!
saw a beauty at walmart.
i really like cooking on charcoal (hotter) but gas is so much more convenient.
Ah a fellow BBQ'er. Tell me, do you also smoke meat?
we know that the whole objective of the preaching work is to place( sell ) magazines and books.
the labor is free from the warehouse to the distribution at the door.
they preach today's bad news and topics from the bible.
No, they could not. The average JW is incapable of self-thought!
as part of a cult awareness campaign of sorts???
to de-ignorize (new word) householders and give them tools for engaging a cult member on their door step?
i had that idea and got some positive feedback...so, any of you would find that something you would want to participate in ?
How many hours a month do I need to turn in so that you'll think I'm un-spiritual?
One of the pro-JW's statements on that website is bugging me. The poster used the number of new KH's being built to prove "how fast they were growing." This is something I've noticed in my area.........local congregations are building new halls when they don't need them. I've suspected some kind of nasty motive, such as an attempt to manufacture a false sense of growth with a continual Hall building program.
Has anybody else seen this in their area?
I think the best part of this article is all the feedback at the bottom. It seems that the Governing Body is trying to portray JW's in a more positive light within the media, while tightening the noose behind the kingdom hall doors. I say this because of the outright lies and half truths JW apologists are spreading in these response columns and on other message boards.
It's nice to see some of the Watchtower skeletons brought out of the closet.

okay, here goes.... i've seen many many many references to kool-aid here, such as "don't drink the kool-aid" etc etc but i can't work out what it's all about.. but, my imagination tells me that maybe someone went to a memorial meal, "partook of the emblems" and discovered that it wasn't wine, but kool-aid.. am i right or is there something else going on?.
.
Here's a question for you......If the brothers locked the doors at a D.C. and brought out the Kool-Aid (real poisoned stuff); and the Bethel speaker explained the GB had decided we all had to drink to please Jehovah, how many there would drink?
okay i am getting messages from gay exjw site message board that ray franz is back at meetings.
i cannot imagine this has a fragment of truth... has anyone heard about this?
can verify or otherwise?
This is an interesting topic, I can't help but wonder if it really would matter if Mr. Franz went back to the meetings. Would that somehow invalidate the 100+ years of Watchtower hypocrisy? Would it make anything that he wrote less true? I don't think so.
