Welcome James
I look forward to hearing a lot more from you
james here; exjw for about 25 years.
was "in" from 1963 to 1980 due to parental "guidance" beyond my own good sense.. have been to elder school, bethel, wthq, etc..., knew many of franz heretics in the mid-late 70 trouble from oklahoma city.. have many silly stories to offer...but for now just will say this - .
if your "god" was really going to come down here and kill everybody on earth except for the wt people who the society liked, would you not stand up to fly the first fighter jet against such a horrible alien?.

Hi g cuddles, welcome to the board
I am disassociated by the way
do you believe that you "should" help witnesses get out of the "truth"?
This is a topic I haven't really thought about until recently, but I am currently helping a close friend in what seems very likely to be her journey out of the wt, and I do feel a moral obligation to help in any way I can. I f someone is honestly seeking to learn the truth about the watchtower, then I feel obliged to help them find it
o.k.
i know that pretty soon my mother will loose it and would begin questioning my leaving the borg.
i'm typing a list of simple questions, so i'm coming to you, dear fellow members, foryour input on about simple questions that can get a jw thinking about their so-called 'truth'.
Hi Mastodon, I hope all goes well for you when the confrontation happens. There is lots of information on the net that will help you deal with it, I am sure you will cope. Maybe you could ask about some of the distortions in the NWT, such as John 1:1, where the wt added an "a" . I could never satisfactorily answer that one to a non jw, and I've never met a dub who can.
Take care my friend

Unfortunately, you are disfellowshipped...
Nothing unfortunate about that, he seems pretty happy about it to me
i don't want to be "special".
i don't want to believe stuff i don't belive in anymore.
i'm tired of feeling isolated from humanity.
toby, thanks for sharing that. You will find that the longer you are away from the borg, the more "normal" life will become.
sooooo glad to see so many new posters.
the borg is loosing control of some anyway.
singing with glee!!!!!!.
Yeah, great to see so many taking the road to freedom.

Hi onesong and welcome!
You are among friends here
yesterday i was thinking back to when i used to go in service.
i was never a shining example for the ministry.
in fact, i was never used on the tms for any field service "how to" parts!
Although I was a regular pioneer for a couple of years, I don't think I was that effective at the doors. Certainly, no one ever became a jw as a direct result of me preaching to them, a fact that I am now very happy about. I did get selected for service meeting parts occasionally, especially after being appointed as an ms, but kh presentations are so easy anyway, the "householder" is always open to what you have to say, unlike on the doors where, according to the brothers they are apathetic. I used to think that, now I think they are just showing sound judgement when they send jws packing.
i'm curious how many people on the board have looked into other religions or spirituality groups since they've left the jw.. what have you looked into?
did you join anything else?
read up on any others?
When I left, I did talk to some of my Christian neighbours a little, but never went to any of their meetings. I now have no interest in any kind of religion, and if not atheist then definitely agnostic. I haven't even got a bible now, and I doubt I'll ever want one. 13 years of dubdom was plenty enough for me
