i'm returning next month. general ed associates degree and then to Daniels Business school for a Construction Real Estate Marketing Finance degree. i'm really excited about it.
when i stumble across someone's long life story or a really good sounding long thread, i often cut and paste it into my nerdy little pda for later reading at the kingdom hell.. well, i did that for a life story from a poster who signed off as "dave" but i blew it and didn't get his username or the url for the thread.
his life story in a nutshell centered around a 2 week trip he made to bethell to work as a consultant for the art/graphics department back in the 80's.
it really woke him up and he subsequently left the dubs.

really cool guy. after i read his story i emailed him and he wrote me back. i had to thank him personally for what the story did for me.
some say it is fitting that the demons were hurled down to earth because the original serpent began his rebellion against god in the garden of eden.
yet, what happened is tantamount to unlocking every prison on earth and letting murderers, rapists and evildoers go free to terrorize humanity.
the angels were aware of the effects of the expulsion of the demons and their leader - "be glad you heavens and you who reside in them.
I thought about this last night while I lay awake. The answer that I came up with from a JW perspective or even from the perspective of a believer in the bible is this: The heavens represent the spirit realm, the earth represents the physical realm. Even though there are many planets and perhaps many species of intelligent life the fact is that the Devil now inhabits the physical realm and only the physical realm. The idea that God would allow him to be here to cause so much trouble can be resolved by thinking from his perspective that any harm or pain done can be undone by him. The stability of 'the big house' or the ruling realm of spirits must be protected at all cost. To disturb that means that the damages done may not be undone in the future.
So basically God is an impotent selfish prick who would rather we suffer because he has the magic bandaid to fix it all but he can't really be arsed to deal with the nuisance of Satan causing trouble with his favorite children the angels or disturbing his naptime. You know that God gets cranky without his naptime

i have one now because i hate shaving and i look like im 12. so this way i look older, shave once a week... more like a trim, and my mom hates it. rock on!
we're talking about a "supreme being" who hates a lot, is violent and vindictive, fascist, any "love" is totally conditional, plays mean mind games (sacrifice your son for me)....he probably oughta be locked up!

i once wrote a thread about this. hilarity if i do say so myself:
as the world becomes a smaller and smaller place, due to advances in technology, there is increased opportunity for persons of different races and cultures to meet and start families.. will the the differences between the races start to disappear as a result?.
do you believe this would be a positive or negative development?.
Look at Brazil and Mexico. There is nothing "pure" racially about either of those countries.
i gotta agree with infamous on this. the knee jerk reaction is to be offended by something without reading. its as if the actual purpose of the work that went into the spoof is missed. there were no funny laughing emoticons after the post. it just stood on its own. why are you being quick to take offense? that is the real question.
