New Article regarding the Global Flood of Noah
by jwfacts ini have put together a new article regarding whether the global flood of noah is possible.
it utilises a lot of information from threads on jwn, and some of you may recognise your own comments.
please feel free to proof read, make suggestions, provide further references, etc.. http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/flood-noah-global.php.

Thank you very much, once again for your work.
The Flood and date of the flood and everything associated with it, is the single biggest reason I have to disbelieve the Witnesses and the Witness view of Genesis.
Is there a ''god''? Who knows for sure? I doubt it very much.
Were we created? Who knows for sure? I very strongly suspect no.
Was there a worldwide flood in 2370 BC? Of course not, you idiot.
I would challenge any Witness to spend 2 or 3 hours reading your website and still believe the Watchtower.
I wouldn't belive them if they said they still did.

WT Elders school: Avoid black and white thinking - now look at this zebra
by sir82 incontinuing on with my haphazard review of the recent one-day elders school..... in one of the introductory talks, the co was making the point that we can't view things merely from a black and white perspective.
many issues have "shades of gray" and we need to use discernment in such situations.. and i'm thinking "finally!
maybe he will continue on to make an actual, reasonable point!".

"newbie" post - after eight years registered
by pajaha inactually, this is my second post as i replied to a thread a few moments ago, but it turns out i originally registered eight years ago but had never posted.. i left in 2000 (from a newport, s wales, congregation) having been brought up in it from about the age of three.
initially, i was obsessed with research and posting to forums but got over it after a few years and just rediscovered this site a couple of days ago.
i just thought it would be worth posting my account of leaving in case it helped others.. i always considered myself to be "strong in the truth" and genuinely believed it,, but i suppose the amount of suppressed doubts had been mounting up and i think it was the summer of 1999 when i first thought of leaving.

Hi pajaha,
Welcome to the forum and please tell us more.
Yes I remember when you left the 'T' here in Newport, as it did cause a little stir amongst us still in brothers. Regretably in my social clique the general attitude was quite derisory.
One brother, a brother who of his own admission said he'd never, and I mean never, read any book except the Society's claptrap, said you'd left because of some doubts about how the kangaroo got to Australia after the Flood. I remember thinking ''yes, how the hell did it get there?'' But this brother thought you were mad for leaving.
As I know you are a male and not a female, I tip my hat to you for your conscience driven abrupt ending of your links to the Watchtower Society. And thankfully all, as far as I know, your famliy left too.
Thanks for posting and look forward to hearing more.

BREAKING NEWS: Watchtower's Charitable Status UNDER THREAT in Britain !
by raymond frantz inthere is an article today in daily mail one of the largest uk newspapers about the plymouth brethren that should worry every thinking jehovah's witness.. the charities commision in britain is threatening the charitable status of a small offshoot of the aglican church the plymouth brethren .the reason ?
they don't perform enough charitable work for their local community .
at a time where the tax avoidance of large businesses such as google ,ebay, amazon and starbucks is under serious question in britain ,the charities commision's investigation into this little church's charitable status comes as no surprise .the 2006 charities act forced charities, often at high cost, to 'demonstrate' value to society .so far being a christian church automatically exempt you off taxes ,this is not the case anymore .

the WTS says obey only us without question as if we are the voice of god
by wallsofjericho init always amazes me that if you make a statment like this to the rank & file jw they will without fail, emphatically deny this is the case.. yet it is 100% fact!!!.
quote "it is vital that we appreciate this fact and respond to the directions of the "slave" as we would to the voice of god, because it is his provision.
" watchtower 1957 jun 15 p.370.

Assume it has been written by the eight men that make up the 'slave' and that they are dictating the material to be written via their secretaries,
then it becomes,
QUOTE "It is vital that you appreciate this fact and respond to our directions as you would to the voice of God, because it is His provision." Watchtower 1957 Jun 15 p.370
QUOTE "The point is that you have implicit trust in your heavenly Father; you do not question what he tells you through his written Word and by listening to us." Watchtower 1974 Jul 15 p.441 **** and how do we learn what God tells us in his written word?

The Governing Body - their own worst enemy!
by cedars ini've been giving some thought recently to what's going on in the minds of the individual governing body members, and what makes them tick.
the process of listening to their talks for my "getting to know you" youtube video series, though draining, has been very enlightening.
i now feel i know some of their individual personalities a little better than i did previously.. then there has been the tumultuous events of 2012. it's been interesting to note the way the governing body has responded to some of these issues, and how in most cases their responses have been woefully inadequate or even counter-productive as regards their long-term interests.. for example:.

Cedars said,
''I'm not suggesting for a moment that the Governing Body members should be likened to Hitler, nor am I remotely insinuating that they should be assassinated!!''.
Of course not, because '''We are not living today among nations where such Governing Body members could be exterminated as was possible and was ordered in the nation of Israel. Being limited by the laws of the worldly nation in which we live we can take action against them only to a certain extent, that is, consistent with the law. The law of the land forbid us to kill them''.
