Babies Who Are Not Dead From An Abortion

a woman gets an abortion.

the baby is supposed to die because of the abortion but doesn’t.

should that living baby be put to death or should the baby be given medical help to survive?.

In my lovely black and white world that I sometimes fantasize of living in I can go from

the extreme of agreeing with the Catholic position that the baby is alive the instant a sperm cell has fertilized an egg, and therefore anything that actively causes the termination of that fertized egg is tantamount to murder, and

the extreme that the about to come out of the birth canal fertilized 40 week old egg ( a baby) can be terminated (killed) with no repercussions.

If only life was black or white. Like a badger.

Ignorance of Watchtower doctrine among young JW's

i've been having a conversation with a young jw on twitter and have, once again, come up against beliefs that do not match up with official watchtower doctrine.

if you like you can read the full thread here (you'll need to click on some comments to open it all up).. anyway the upshot is that this jw, and many like her, believe that only truly wicked people will be killed at armageddon - not innocent babies and children or anyone who "didn't know better" perhaps because they didn't get a witness.

it's as though they cannot accept the obvious injustice of jehovah's morality.. this jw teenager believes that all these non-jw's who survive armageddon will get their chance to prove their loyalty during the 1000 year reign of christ - again, not a watchtower teaching.. i don't really have a question to ask, this is just an observation.

As regards being 'saved' or 'surviving' Armageddon,

ask them,

''Do I need to be a Jehovah's Witness in order to be either 'saved' or 'survive' Armageddon?

If they answer truthfully then the answer is

''Yes, you do have to be a JW to be saved/survive '', which means only JW's will make it. The rest die.

If they answer with a lie then it's

''No, you don't have to be Jehovah's Witness to be saved/survive. We leave that to Jehovah to decide.''

My answer would then be,

''In which case what difference does it make whether I join you or not?''

What a tragedy. Reported as a JW but actually a former JW.

Hello Everyone, Another JW Has Left!

just want to introduce myself and let you know that this site is working and is a big help to lots of jws with doubts.

i've been lurking for about a year, the first couple of times i was frightened and literally shaking visiting an apostate site but it's the only place i can come to for sanity.

the religion has become a nut house.

I took it that the phrase ''Several years ago...... I read'' to be past tense,

as I understood the past tense of 'to read' to be the word 'read', pronounced 'red'.

I'm not quite sure I follow what you are getting at Simon.

I didn't read the the OP as trying to nail the WTS to the stake for a snippet of a phrase they printed in 1952, but I may have misinterpreted.

I took it they were asking if they were correct in their recollection and JWFacts answered with the information to clarify. Job done.

What's the big deal with the date?

What helped me out of the religion was reading stuff that had been printed before I was born by the religion I was a part of.

I only wish that I'd known the shit they had printed including this about apostates and yes I would certainly use the 1952 quote to point out what the religion is really like.

Just as I would use the 1928 quotation about the Pleiades constellation being the suggested dwelling place of Jehovah which I believe, if I am correct in my recollection, helped you in your leaving the Witness religion.
