As lovelylil mentions, he probably still feels that this is God's organization. I really feel that it is very important for people to investigate the claims of the Society. If they don't the programming eventually takes over and they end up conflicted, undecided, oscillating between activity and inactivity and generally still feeling miserable and guilty.

Similar things are happening in mine. The friends are worn out, more JC cases coming up. Now some are involving elders families. And a few have expressed frustration with how long this is taking.

He made a HUGE mistake. But, like many here, I know from personal experience what it is like growing up with an extremely devoted JW parent. If he went through what I went through it was a nightmare.

Any information on number of JW's who have left?
by *jeremiah* inso i'm curious if there is any accurate information out there as far as the number of people who have left the jw's.
maybe annually or per decade or whatever.. you have those who are disfellowshipped, those who are disassociated, and then those who are never baptised who just kind of walk away.
i'm sure "the society" has these numbers, yet, i'm sure they don't come off of them.

You can get an idea from the Yearbook and Watchtower Worldwide Reports. It takes a little work and you have to get hard copies to do it.

by gypsytart ini've been 'lurking' on this discussion board for ages, but not posted until now - finally thought i'd go for it and post something myself!
i've chosen gypsy tart as my alias not because i'm a gypsy (i'm not), or a tart (not all the time lol) but because i love gypsy tart it's my v favourite pud ever!
i did think of calling myself 'hovisbiscuit' because that's what the other kids at school would call me (along with 'oh look it's a hova') whilst they all filed into assembly.

JW Reform, It will NEVER happen...

such dreaming will, in the end, come to naught.
there are practical reasons why.. (1) the rank and file have no authority over the governing body.. (2) the rank and file do not hold sway over any of the corporate interests.. (3) the vast majority of memorial partakers are not credible in the eyes of the governing body, nor do they have any authority over anything.. (4) the organization shows a willingness to publicly claim beliefs to which jehovah's witnesses do not actually subscribe in order to improve public image (see lisa's interview with j.r. brown), while retaining the same hard-line beliefs in reality.. (5) the governing body is unwilling to relinquish control over the organization, to share authority with underlings (e.g.

Although there is an appeals process for disfellowshipping, there is no appeal for disassociation.

Aude-Sapere mentioned some are active elders. Heres one. The truth of the matter is I avoid the door knocking and plan to fade out. But to do it right means bringing my family out with me. So I've had to stick it out. Further many active JWs find themselves in similar situations.

just the contrary, they think it is a final warning work just before the destruction of the wicked (all non-JWs) begins.
Same with JWs that I know. Of course, when the end doesn't come it will leave more dubs disillusioned.
