Man can not direct even ONE step of his without Gods direction.
Is that why he gave us brains? So we can refuse to use them unless he's holding our hand every minute?

do you think it matters?
how long did it take for you to start voting?
was it liberating?.

They are not there to argue religious topics.
Haven't they already brought religion into it by using the phrase "divine calling" several times in the letter?
As far as "embarrassing" the plaintiff is concerned, they do that quite well all by themselves. And they have good reason to be embarrassed. If I made such foolish statements so often I'd be embarrassed too.
Quotes site is excellent for research and I didn't notice any negative commentary there.

Yes, I vote and I belong to and work for a political party. One day I hope to influence policy enough to severely restrict the activities of Jehovah's Witnesses.

were you ever told on the doors to go do something useful?.
rather than wish for the collapse of the wtbts, why not come up with an idea for how it could be transformed, for example into a charity, useful organisation or company?.
what about a multi level marketing company selling toilet roll?
Get every JW with a title and use them for experimental purposes. You know, useful experiments, like dumping them into the north atlantic to see whether they drown before they freeze to death.

i do remember that as a jw, i was not allowed to donate to the salvation army because technically it is a church, but i don't remember anything about the red cross.. if jws are not allowed to do so, why not?
as far as i know, the red cross is not a faith-based organization.. marianne
A spiritually weakling wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell at being helped anytime soon.
Exactly. I remember a sister named Rita. She had schizophrenia, and was fine most of the time but couldn't work. She also had this annoying voice quality that made her sound that she was constantly breathing in helium, so most in the congregation were embarassed by her. She spent most of her time in service, doing about 100 hours a month. Her non JW mother threw her out because she was going in service so much. The elders refused to do anything to help her. She ended up in a womens shelter and no one heard anything about her again.

every time i went to a meeting, book study, or whatever, the great majority of people looked as if they were truly happy to be a jw.
their smiles looked genuine.
they seemed to love talking to each other.. i, on the other hand, wasn't really happy to be at the meetings.
No. I hated being a JW. I believed in it but I hated it. Not because of the meetings or service, but because of the f*cked up people. The only reason I remained a JW was because I was married to one - I did not want to live forever in a world filled with people like that. As soon as I found out it was a pack of lies I was gone.
If I could burn every memory of the JWs out of my brain without doing myself injury I would not hesitate one minute.

once a year, the watchtower society publishes a book with all the statistics they feel necessary to print and show the world, like the total number of hours spent in the field service and how many bible studies there were.. to be perfectly honest, what other statistic should they also include to give a more realistic picture of what's going on in that organization?.
The Ratio of a JW's walking velocity compared to a Mail Carrier's walking velocity.
No contest there. The mail carriers here are fast. Once they finish their route they can go home. But many congregate in a nearby pub.
The JWs have no such incentive. I guess the "new system" runs a distant second to cold beer and hot chicken wings.

Sad, but true. JWs go great distance to help.... other JWs.
But they ignore, even persecute, those in need within their local congregations. I've seen it too many times.

JW's are discouraged from donating to any charity because they offer only "temporary solutions to mankinds problems". It's much better to "honour Jehovah with your valuable things" by donating to the "worldwide preaching work".
