17 Days: One Final Adventure

i once posted here a copy of my empassioned plea to the watchtower society--i want my mother back.

well, i just wanted to let all of you know that i got her back for a whole 17 days, and we had one final adventure together before she died, and there wasn't a damned thing they could do about it.. my mother is, was, a long-term loyal jw and i was her disfellowshipped daughter.

i believe she was in an almost constant state of conflict over me because her very strong maternal instincts demanded she behave openly and lovingly toward me, while her wts-trained conscience demanded the opposite.

i've done enough research and know enough about the org to know that i could never never believe that crap again.

i doubt the bible... i despise the label of "religion" in general and have found such wonderful freedom in my... freedom.

You may want to ask yourself: "How would my kids view my being reinstated just to fade?" I know it's hard when you miss people you were close with, but wouldn't the better good come from sticking up for what you believe in? Just some thoughts.

Be Honest: Did You ACTUALLY Report Accurate Field Service Time?

i bet most people did not.

i think nearly everyone counted time spent on breaks.

or sitting in the car for an hour and a half while the elders did a "shepherding" call.

I would add some here and there, esp. when I auxillary pioneered.

My ex hubby, who was an elder and pioneer, had very creative ways to count time. So many times we would return to the hall for him, and be waiting in the car for 20-30 minutes. When I would go see what was taking so long, I would find him on the phone with his stockbroker! I couldn't believe he has 3-4 other people waiting outside while he say where his portfolio was! I guess he would keep him time going by telling the broker he was out in service!

HELP!! ADVICE....Saying NO to pioneering

i have a female friend who i've been discussing the religion with.

she definitely has doubts about the org but isn't sure on leaving just yet as she has still got about 6 months to go being a minor dependent on the parents.

lately, she's been getting heavy pressure to start pioneering.

She can't get df'd, but they can make her feel guilty as hell. I agree with Uzzah's advise. Tell the elders that she wants to improve as a publisher first, since pioneers are to be an example for the rest of the cong.

Also, what do her parents say? Are they asking the elders to encourage her to pioneer, or do they care? Maybe say "My parents and I are discussing my options, but thank you for the suggestion."

I probably would have left anyway. Just as I was divorcing my ex-dub hubby, that new light about 1914 was coming out, and I thought "They are grasping at straws".

So this is Jehovah's way? Or the borg's? Since the Pay Attention book outlines the process for these judicial hearings, and the rank and file don't have access to this book, all you have is their word. How are you supposed to be prepared to defend yourself at this meeting when they can't provide these details for you?!? This really makes my blood boil.
