after serving in central america a year I served in the midwest.A few brothers in our circuit ask me if I could put togather a slide presentation on how the brothers were doing in that country. The presentation included how difficulty it was for some of the brothers too make it to the meetings, how the brothers backpack in the bush for seven days in order to preach too those in isolated areas. The word got out, and many cong. invited me to give the talk. Now this was in mid- 70;s. Things were a lot different. This was the sunday talk.I guess word got back too HQ. Word came down to me ,not give any more slide presentation unless it is from HQ. I was told I was bring too much attention too myself. One thing was for sure , the cong. where full when I gave that talk.

Intelligence of Witness Material
by choosing life inwhen i started attending the meetings, i was in college.
i would use any excuse i could to get out of the watchtower study.
i couldn't believe they wanted me to read the article at home and underline the answers and then i had to sit and listen to them read it aloud again and give the same exact answers they underlined in the magazine.

My wife has finally seen the light.
by Ironhead infor 18 months i have been at loggerheads with my wife over the wts.
she has been the perfect watchtower slave even declaring that she'll never leave the truth.
i decided not to interfere in her life, attacking the society, and the idiots in the hall, but recently things have changed for the best.

Why does the great crowd go to memorial?
by *jeremiah* in"do this in remembrance of me"...... ...those words jesus utters,..according to the wt,...is specifically for "the annointed",...right?.
if jesus at the last supper is speaking directly to "the annointed class",...that they should parttake and "do this in remembrance",...then why do the r & f even go to the memorial?.
looking at it through jw eyes,...jesus didn't invite members of "great crowd" to the last supper,...right?

I know this is off the subject but check out MITHRA the sun GOD , 600 YEARS before CHRIST.He had 12 disciples, born around christmas, the blessing of the world, birth announced by the stars, worshiped by wise men, fasted for 40 days, taught in parables and rose from the dead. And his followers partook of a drink on the day of his death. The Persian did this and then move to ROME before christ, 600 yrs. before the first memorial took place.

THE HAPPY FACTOR
by Dogpatch inhere's a question that i haven't seen addressed directly:.
why are there many witnesses who enjoy the organization immensely?.
no matter what you tell them, they would not dream of leaving.

Like most of you , I was around people who knew all the answers to life, who were certian. They did not reason or investigate. They had no doubts. They knew that they had the truth. In thier creed there was no guess--no perhaps. They had a revelation from GOD. They knew the beginning of things. They knew the origin of all things, the cause of evil, of all crime, of all disease and death. They not only knew the beginning but they knew the end. All who boudted or denied would be lost. Very powerful information. What they fail to realize is belief is not subject to the will. Men think as they must. Children do not , and cannot, believe as they were taught. They differ in temperament, in experience, in capacity, in surroundings. And so there is a continual , though almost imperceptidle change. The mind cannot and will not be securely anchored. So in other words what made me happy was a like of knowlege. But my kids it was devastating.

right after the jones town ,,jim jones and his followers, we were out in service. A GREAT OPPORTUNITY too expose false religion. The householder stated you people are know better then the jonse town cult. She ask me If the people in charge told us, all Jw must move too some isolated place because the end was near. You know and I know many would move. They have no say if thay are to remain a jw.

Years ago I was out in service with CO. First door so it was early between 9-10oclock. I ring the bell no answer, then the co bang on the door. The man came to door in his pajamas eyes red and a little upset. He said, I thought it was the police. This guy made it clear he works nites. I could relate because I also work nites. But this did not stop the CO. After a few min. the man just close the door in our face while the the CO was talking. I thought it was funny. The CO grab his bag and made the comment what is more important sleep or Gods word. I thought what would happen if someone came too his door at 2 AM with the Bible to discuss the book of Rev. This is the same CO who gave our cong. a special talk ,we need to make a complete stop at the stop signs, wait a few seconds. He took notes while riding with the bro. in service.Who was coming to a complete stop.

I suffer from ptsd when i became a jw. The yesr 1970. I had recently come from viet nam. I did not know it at the time. I did not get treatment until I got out of the org.,1998. In the 60,s and 70,s there was a lot of heavy dranking in the org.So with the drinking trying to cope with the demands of org. and a family of six, it took its toll. A breakbown 1998. Today I am 100% better. Many people come in with mental condition.

That feeling that it could al be false how did you experience it?
by GBSJG inwhen i started researching i was still convinced that jws had the truth.
so i read some critical articles by ex-jws about certain teaching and i started to do some more research.. at this time i have successfully faded and no longer believe anymore.
but i can remember the moment when i first allowed the thought in my mind that it could all be false and not the truth.

my experience, i went too far in researching the bible. After researching the history of the jw I begain looking into history of religions, then world history and etc. Like many of us on this site we have abandon belief in the bible. In my journey I became a member of my old church, BECAME VERY ACTIVE. In fact I sang in the men group, study with new members . I became a Freemason move up in the ranks and at this point in my life I begain to realize that every organization have thier own truth ,why are we here. The problem with not believing in bible , NO HOPE. That is not a good feeling to realize that this is it. No coming back, we are here just a short time. But what has made it acceptable is that many has gone before me, we all have too go at some time. My son said something to me the other day. He said Dad you live in us , your kids. Your genes lives in us your grand kids thier kids and so on. So when you begain to serach the truth be careful that you do not go too far.
