Medical expenses can wipe out a senior saving account.This
probably will not apply to most of you here(born in the borg),
but if you served in the military you can receive treatment from the VA
hospital..The fee you may pay(not military related) in nothing in comparison
too what you may pay for a private Dr.
I also have Social Security, but VA is much less expensive, even before I
was awarded my disability...

When you bend over to pick up something and the "old boy" come
out of your mouth...And when you bend to pick something from the floor,
it's not a pretty site I may add....

We spent the weekend in Palm springs, met a nice couple in the
hotel elevator..We hit it off. He had cancer in remission, she just
retired this year. They had just arrived from a six week road trip
from the east coast back to California, a stop over in Palm Springs.
We were both in Vietnam the same year, he was in Special forces.
So we had a lot to talk about.
When he found out he had cancer his outlook on life changed dramatically,
he said he is living life to the full. I'm not worry about leaving my
kids inheritance, they will only go out and buy some fancy shoes..LOL
I told him, I'm sure your kids would rather you enjoy your retirement and
live life to the full.

It seems like a couple of decades ago my mom holding my hand taking
me down town buying my first pair of tennis shoes. My first
kiss , Nam, marriage,four kids and damn't retired. What the hell happened.
If someone ask me how long have you been here on earth and I
didn't know my age, i would say 30-40 years. I'm 67, damn't
to hell......

has anyone had success with a high traffic website or blog ?.
it might take a team of people to accomplish.. ads pay and people count, lots and lots of people.
does jehovahs-witness.net make money every time someone looks at the web site?
How much do you value knowledge, and how much have you
saved monetary from what we have received here. Speaking
for myself, Simon and wife I appreciate what you have done...
You filled a unique void in many of our lives, as Ex-JW's....
I know it's a lot of work to run this Web Site, so now I will
be clicking ads....
This site have saved me a lot of money, and peace of mind...
If Simon is making a billion dollars a year, who cares, is it not
worth it from what you have recevied....
some may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.
I wonder, will that mean that can eat a meal at the same table
with you or welcome in their home...It use to be, with family members
don't discuss nothing spiritual, but with JW's there's no conversation..

Agree with the above, "DF'ing stays" It will be a wake up call for
some folks. Parents have missed out of seeing their grandkids,
youngs ones have missed out in seeing their mother or father
growing old. After 10,20 30 years of shunning, now you say it's OK.
Many JW families are suffering just as much as those they are shunning.
Many will find it hard to call you and say it's ok to speak to you, and
try to explain the reason behind such much suffering over the years.
That would be a BIG wake up call.

JB: Thanks. But, raised a foot stumping Baptist and as
a adult a mud slinging JW. I had strong faith, but I didn't
know the Bible...I guess I had blind faith.
In other words I have been in the house of Lord for most of my
life.. Most people find faith in their twilight years I'm 67 and I
tell you friend, faith in the bible is no where to be found..
I really admire people that have that kind of faith. Me, I lost it
by reading the Bible...
used to justify shunning..
