It was 26 years ago, I was 26 years old.
Hmmmm.....I am about to be 26 myself......and this prank business is just up my alley being an insomniac and all, I am awake and energized at some odd hours and I have quite a few friends on the police force here who would "turn a blind eye" to my nefarious nighttime activities.
Add the fact that I have a load of leftover Xmas decorations from various beer and liquor companies (Bud, Miller, Coors, Jaegermiester, Jack Daniels.....)
OH! To be young and deliciously evil!
Nate, you seem to have mastered the art of "sticking it to THE MAN" in your younger days. I would love to be your understudy.
Amy (of the I have great ideas but no "gravitas" class)

With the new Disfellowshipping procedure, How will the congo know who left?
by booker-t inwith the "new" way jw's are expelled from the congregations how would the congregation know who left on their own(disassociated) themselves or was disfellowshipped for "wrongdoing".
when i left the elders told me that they would tell the congregation that i "disassociated"my self and that would be that.
the whole congregation would know that i left on my own and was not expelled for immorality or wrongdoing.

that only someone haughty and that had rejected Jehovah would do.
Oh! Gag me! There is another one of those JW buzzwords! Akin to "suchlike ones"

hmm...It was multiple compliments from the same person/s. What's more, it was live on the local radio station!
they said something along the lines of my determination and spirit of giving is a wonderful asset to the community as a whole.
I raised about $3,000 for my company's annual turkey drive benefiting various local charities. Equivalent to 400 turkeys!! In addition, I was able to solicit over one thousand LBS of non-perishable foodstuffs for the local food bank.
Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. -

When elders disagree....
by Lilycurly inhere's the situation.... my da has been finally announced last thursday.
now, the thing is, my father asked the elders if it was still okay for him to talk to me.. elder1 says :no, she is daed, is not living with her family anymore, you can't talk or associate with her in any way.
(that elder has been shunning his daughter for a few years now.).

Yes, so sad that he feels he can't decide for himself but I think it reflects that he has a desire to associate with you.
So many have been no questions asked cold-hearted shunned by family in and out of the "circle." Happy for you that he shows he still wants you in his life. We are all hoping he follows his heart and not the herd!

I think I got to like 3rd base with Jehoobert.
Left when I was 17 moved 185 miles away, moved back @ age 20. By 22, I decided life was better 185 miles away. Close enough to visit the family, far enough away that they are not all up in our business and I have XJW anonymity here.
Works out pretty well I think.
