Atheists, what is the best argument FOR God?

there are no convincing arguments for god, but some are worse than others.

i thought it would be interesting to see what people consider the best (of the bad) arguments for god?.

in my oppinion it is the fine-tuning argument from cosmology.

God is nothing more then a product of man taking one belief and adding on and making another religion. Everyone knows we are the product of alien seeding of this planet to make life in an experiment to see if humans can live deer from the deer planet, and pigs from the pig planet... and those crazy spiders from the spider nebula, and the mouse planet too... new episodes every Thursday on that series we all know and love... EARTH!

i ask this respectfully, and do so after watching a favorite show of mine's season opener which had a new years storyline.

hollywood tends to make movies and television show episodes centered around holiday themes appear warm and blissful.

while i'm thankful to have never participated in such holidays, i can't deny my curiosity about ex-jws that do celebrate.

Yes, and very much so. I am a stone cold Pagan and see holidays has something I make matter and with the help of good imaginations and traditions. They're fucking awesome!!!

Overheard some JWs on the train today- going to be interesting this year

cruising down to the city this afternoon we were behind a group of j-dubs on the train.

part of the conversation centered around the "generation" teaching.

all of them clearly trying to wrap their heads around it.

I have heard a lot of people making fun of 1914-2014 in several family circles, with friends who knew of it and even stand up comedians who know of this message. Here is the thing, the Jehovah's Witnesses have become a joke in history and have been nothing more of a punch line in, "Name people who believed everything without question, even when the real truth stomped them in to the dirt ... Jehovah's Witnesses." Honestly, that is a joke I think we forget on this board, way too often. We take them serious, we act like the world even knows they exist anymore. I hardly even know anyone who gives a crap about them anymore, and when I mention I used to be one they just ask questions of "How did you buy that crap?" To which I explain being raised in it and not doing it past age 27. I just think, when we try to prove this to that and so on... we have to really remember, the world truly sees them as a sad joke.

Is it mentally healthy to still read the Watchtower and pick it appart so much? If you know it is wrong, isn't it best to just leave what is seen as garbage in the trash and not even open it up for another wasted moment in a short life.
