I am no longer a witness. But my love of Yahweh and his Son was never based on Watchtower. I respect other people's opinions. I will never resort to name calling or speaking my thoughts in an arrogant manner. But I will share what affected me and for those who care, what has kept me on track. I meditated on this and of course my thoughts are in brackets.

Thus says Yahweh: Cursed is the man ( intentionally or not I am receiving the affects of trusting 7 men all my life) who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh. ( common after leaving Watchtower)- Jeremiah 17:5

Jeremiah, 17:6 - For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, ( leaving the tower is traumatic and many lives do not turn out well due to fact that they did not see good when it came, that of leaving Watchtower) but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.
Anyway, I am not preaching. But for those who are still believers, you might like this.

Copied and pasted: Jesus' suffering and torture shows the hatred and cruelty of humanity. Satan's hatred of God and His Son Jesus were the motivation behind the extreme torture and abuse. The suffering of Jesus is an example of how sinful man feels toward a holy God (Romans 3:10-18).

Isaiah 53:3-5 says, "He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."

while it is true that maybe 1 or 2 things woke you up (like myself), it is interesting to reflect on the reality of what you did not believe, even if you were a true believer and would of died for the organization.

The problem with this and any cult, is that all the things mentioned by all of you is not taught un the Bible Teach, Knowledge, Truth, etc. books. Imagine if it was. Absolutely no one would become a JW. Wack Pack incorporated.

I guess my problem is, currently I am obsessed with ex- JW stuff. I sit down to drink coffee after work, and all I can do is read everything ex-JW. I can't get enough. It is all I think about. How long does this continue? Reading a lot must come with the PTSD. We have avoided knowledge for so long. We are like a child in a library. I can't say I hate that organization enough!

Just plain depressing. I'm so glad I never had a chance to do that crap. Just think, the GB orders them to do such. That is why I couldn't fade slowly. One day I was at the meeting, the next , vanished. Just couldn't handle the GB telling me what to do and how to do it.

five (5) year old child baptisms, smaller magazines, child sexual abuse exposed, smaller annual growth, no one wants to reach out, young ones leaving.

They will create a third magazine by a different name. They will place all 3 for about 2 years. Then they will stop printing the Watchtower and tell the R/F that it will be more effective to go back to 2 magazines, thus rebranding to new name.

I most certainly agree with Blondie. It is for that reason I want it to hit their wallet. As Driving Force said, it is about waking more people up.

Possum: Being the spiritual head of the family didnt make my husband a better man.

Interesting. I say that because for 12 years I was an elder. I always wanted to do what was right. But I was a Nazi when it came to getting to meetings early, going in service, study, etc. It was just too much for my wife. She seems far more relaxed now. But it is so true that we were a reflection of those 7 little jerks in New York. How did we ever believe that 7 men held the answers to the universe? I can't even comprehend that concept now.

I appreciate all your comments. It feels good to not be alone and have people that know exactly what you are going through. I too am a born in. For 40 years I was truly a Watchtower extemist. I guess I need to relax. Not go to extremes. It just feels like the Watchtower has introduced a mid-life crisis. And since my wife is still in (and will never leave), it makes it harder to do things. I can't just start doing all these new things suddenly. It would feel strange for my wife. I just feel limited due to my circumstances.
