Latest tv.org video. Only been mentally out 4 months, but Lett's concluding words made me want to vomit. The propaganda is thick. Work ourselves to death right into the new world. Boy, once you are disconnected, you realize how much you were in a trance with this nonsense. -

Why attack?
by newqatarjob inas someone brought up as a jw and been an elder and been disfellowshipped (twice!!!
) i find it difficult to understand why ex jws have to attack the religion, yes religion, not cult or sect.

All of us are simply feeling a lot of pain. It may never go away. When I discovered TTATT 4 months ago, I cried. What can I compare it to? Imagine your parents always showing you love. They hugged and kissed you when you were growing up. They tucked you in at night. You remember all the good times with them. They provided for you. You always felt their love. You were secure. Then as you grew up, you found out that they loved you so much that they actually kidnapped you from your real parents, and killed them. Now you know the truth. But other family members are saying, you know they loved you, didn't you feel their love? Didn't they show affection? Talk about confusion. You and I have found the TTATT. Nothing good that happened in the organization will change the real truth.

Supernatural Tony......the 3rd
by snare&racket ini realised something today.... we all happily accepted something really ridiculous.....something that if worded how i will word it now, we would have rejected as ridiculous, but after a moments thought, would have to concede.. we once followed the governing body because we believed they had supernatural powers.
how ridiculous you may say, no we didn't!
of or relating to things that cannot be explained according to natural laws.

“The brother went down to get the mail before breakfast, and when we had breakfast he said, ‘Brother Riemer, I got a new Watchtower this morning, and do you know the first thing that Ma and I do when we get that Tower? We kneel down before we take the wrapper off and ask Jehovah to make us worthy to see what the message is that Jehovah has for us. Now, before we take the wrapper off, will you kneel down and pray with us?’ How different that elective elder was from this humble couple who appreciated Jehovah’s organization” (Watchtower, Sept. 15, 1964, p 574) -

I think some dont understand the expression True Believer. A true believer is one who studies day and night, takes his privileges very seriously, prays to Jehovah. He does support the organization, but in his mind, it IS about Jehovah. True, he reads the literature, but in his mind it is not about the Watchtower. The Bible is his real focus. I was one of them. Many of you here know for a fact, that you were sort of alone if this is how you felt. Years ago I had an elder friend of mine say that their are few people that he could have a deep discussion about Jehovah or Jesus as persons. These people are few. I know many elders, pioneers, and publishers, that will turn you in to the elders for anything. They talk about all the new light. They seem so involved. But you can't talk about Jehovah with them. They cheat at business, overdrinking, foul language etc. In my current congregation of 120, I would say about 50 are True Believers in the strict sense. We call this the "core". I believe that "core" is getting older and smaller. I am 45 . And in countries like the U.S., I believe my generation is a turning point. So many young people are not "reaching out", not pioneering, don't want to go to Bethel. The boe, which I served for years, it was obvious that only about 2 of 6 were true believers. As was already said, just because you are deeply involved, doesn't mean your believing everything. You are just so drunk with privileges, you can't think straight. In fact I just found out 2 of my friends are "apostates". No, they said they weren't. But I said they were. Simply because they disagreed on all issues such as blood, disfellowshipping , counting time, pioneering, you name it. I believe many are like this, but they feel you should still go through the motions and it is still Jehovahs organization. Oh, and they ARE NOT APOSTATES. But I need to correct how I feel...Yeah. Right.

That is a good point Magnum. 1995 seems like yesterday to me when the generation understanding changed. But in reality, it was a long time ago! It was my 1925! The newer ones may never know how "sure" we were. How many built their lives on it. That explains why new ones can come in and accept everything. -

All the changes
by vinman inare their any newer people here, who recently found out ttatt, who has been disturbed by all the new changes in the organization?
it is turning into something that feels impersonal.
i know change is good.

I am new to this forum and I only found out the TTATT 4 months ago. I must add, even my wife had the weirdest face when she watched the cart song. It is something you would never imagined would happen. -

I know change is good. But it feels like the comfort of grandma's house is going away. Grandma is suffering midlife crisis. Even before I began to leave in my heart, it felt like it was becoming another religion. This just added to my fuel for leaving. (The "cart song " is so embarrassing)

I have just recently (about 4 months ago), found TTATT. I'm 45. Was baptized at 13. Have done it all. What you are saying is the real truth! Many just don't want to make waves. They put in"token" service. Very few are absolutely dedicated. No one. And I mean no one, is even slightly believing the generation new light. Unlike the generation that will not pass away nonsense, which did cause some excitement, this is a dudd. So many youth and older ones are going to college. It is a new generation. Kids and adults who work in schools show school spirit. I can go on and on. But you nailed it! -

144,000
by freein2004 inokay so the number is literal but them coming out of israel is not?
huh?
what am i missing?

Just a thought: Since the Watchtower says 12 can represent completeness, couldn't it represent complete spiritual Israel. A limited, yet undisclosed number, in contrast to the "great crowd" which no man was able to number? -

Appreciate everyone's kind words. Everyone leaves the organization for different reasons. For me, it was that the Watchtower hid the fact that we worshipped Jesus into the 50's. How did that ever escape me? That is because for years and even on jw.org today, it carefully says that we have always rejected the Trinity. The assumption is made that we didn't do the worse part of that doctrine, which is creature worship of Jesus. That is so misleading. Anyway, my main point is this. That one finding, is just the beginning as you all know. Then we find all the rest of the deceptions, secrecy, etc. So it becomes complicated to explain to anyone in full why you say this is not the truth. It is not just this or that. Rather you begin to see a big pattern which screams "Do not put your trust in earthling men!" In other words, that is why all leave. A person may try to "explain" what seems to be a deception or that we were overly zealous for the end to come, whatever. But they fail to see what the real problem is. The Governing Body has no more of God's spirit then I do. For so many years, you wait for them to make sense of things. Sometimes they have. But you already had the real understanding 20 years ago! Just like the generation thing. That is such a simple scripture to grasp. Yet here we are now waiting for them to tell us that the generation began with Rutherford when we were called Jehovah's Witnesses. And those overlapping anointed ones will see the end. When you see the real issue, that of trusting men, their is no turning back no matter what "explanations" are given. And that is something that takes time to convey to family. Sorry for ranting. I know this is all old news, but I just need a punching bag and this is the place.
