Hehe, if any of them would have read the book, they would know that the Albino character, Silas, is not just "evil" for the sake of being evil. The book doesn't say that Albino= Bad....He has an history, the way people interacted with him and the suffering he endured because of how he looked, living on the street since a very young age, rejection and violence that made him vulnerable , and more likely to fall into a religious mind-control. He is really a victim of society in the story, and I hope the movie shows that.

Also....on a completly shallow note...Paul Bettany is gorgeous.lol

Da Vinci book 'shows ignorance'

It might not be all facts...

But what I really like about the book is that it will make the majority of people who read it question things.

No need to take everything you read in there as 100% fact, but at least, it makes the population want to dive a little deeper, research stuff like that and not just go with what they have been thought.

Now the movie will probably be very good, I can't wait to see it....I really hope my dad will go to...

Assemblies

so i was invited to an assembly by my jw teacher .

i think i will be pretty bored and feel out of place.

it is a 3 day assembly this summer and the jw said they were to invite everyone (interested).

You know...since we are on the subject of love-bombing. All this talking about it made me think about how I did it too, as a teen in the "truth". It was not ill-intended, I was just so happy to have an eventual "new friend" I could hang-out with. And to be abble to feel that young people actually came into the org on their own, perhaps to better convince myself that I was right to stay in. It was so rare to have a new ones... It was kind of encouraging in a sick way. Now that I am aware of the brainwashing I had been subjected to, I feel pity for those poor kids...and I'm always glad everytime I hear that one of them has figured his way out of it.

all right, now that we're talking about movies again, let's turn each other on to some of these:the best movie you thought you'd hatemine are: perfect blue my first exposure to intelligent anime.

come to think of it, this is definitely a "best weird movie," too.fight club i'd been avoiding it for years because of the violence.the truman show i mean, jim carrey's mugging plus cliched preachments.

well, that's what it could have been.basquiat a depressing ending to a story of mixed accomplishment and really bad judgement, complicated by mental illness but the scene where he hallucinates a work of art he has just designed, and smiles it explains so much.

Does items considered part of the "Occult" still scare you?

if i met you and you saw that i wear a pentagram and often speak about tarot and rune, and mention how i do magick and you saw that i have a wiccan calender on my wall and there are statues around my house of gargoyles, dragons, and other things no good witness would be caught dead with.

would you be okay with this or does your mind still see these items as demons?

i a an adult, i can accept people being judgemental of these items and i do come to expect it, especially with my own personal background in the religion.

Sincerely, I have never liked assemblies, even when I thought I was in the truth.

Usually, New-Age stores or Esoterics ones have this kind of service. Maybe check the internet...

I like Tarot, it's pretty interesting when you've got the chance to get a reading with someone who really knows their stuff.

I personally prefer Chiromancy, wich analyses the lines, form, colors etc of the hand. This I can confirm, works really well. You can accurately find so many things about a person just by looking at their hands.

It is great that you are starting to get interested in spiritual matters at such a young age...I`m 24, but still feel like a teenager at heart.hihi

I have been raised in `the truth', so I understand exactly how you are feeling now. I also had an interest in spirituality but as I grew up, I realised that even though the Witnesses where mostly good people who wanted to please God...there were other options. And I needed to dig deeper, not just look a bit around. This the Watchtower doesn't allow. You know what they say...it's like in relationships, if there are more things that make you unhappy then happy, you should reconsider. Well, after a while, I realised that it was time to do just that.

Spirituality is infinite, I learn more and more everyday without restrains. And I am free to look everywhere I want, in any book that interest me, or any path that I am curious to learn more about. Most importantly, I make a point of considering both sides of every point. You would be surprised of all the things you would discover if you let your mind go free. I feel so much more happy now.

I also needed a purpose, I felt my life wasn't all it could be (and I was in the Witnesses at that time). Well I say...*study*, give yourself a purpose to educate yourself in everything you have an interest in. Buy or make a blank-page book, or even a binder. And take notes, classify them, read about as many subject as you can. Get more in depth knowledge about ancient religions, and christianity, Bible history and origins...and look at both side of it, they are really quite interesting. Did you know that...for example, the word pagan designated the peasant people. The people of the earth, that lived very close to nature, celebrated the seasons. Even before anyone started to beleive in such things as devils and demons. Even before christianity appeared. Learn herb-lore, bring yourself close to nature and everything beautiful that is around you, thank what creator you beleive in for all of it. This, to me, has been the most fullfilling spiritual experience I have had. Take a walk where there are beautiful old trees, listen to the birds sings, look at the blue sky...you will learn more and be more grateful then in any cathedral or Kingdom hall you will go to. You will feel free, you will live by the moral rules you make for yourself, and not those some men put upon you...
