  Aw, that's sweet thanks for noticing. I'm back for the moral support (I love to read others experiences) because even tho I've been faded for over 5 years suddenly the Elders from our old hall are hounding my husband and I so that they can announce that we're no longer witnesses. My husband has had a couple of run ins with them so far and it was extremely stressful for him since he has family still in. I had to show him how great this board is and that lots of others feel the way he does.

  I also took him to youtube to see exgilead missionary's videos since they're really good.

  Don't get downhearted! Take this one step at a time and I guarantee things will fall into place. It's sort of mind blowing to uncover that the truth is actually the lie, but better to realize it now then after you've devoted any more of your life to them!

  What year Did you Stop Attending Meetings - How Long were you a JW ?

  i'm trying to compare some statistics and figures on this to share later in the thread to see if more long-time witnesses are exiting- or are newer witnesses exiting after a shorter period of time.

  and - are more people exiting in the last 10 to 15 years than before.

  so your answers would be helpful in looking into this .

  read whatever books i wanted, even apostate ones over the years.

  -short skirts

  i have suffered from depression for quite a while, at varying degrees.

  several months ago, i made the decision to stop attending meetings (check out my first posts for the reasons).

  Depression runs very strongly in my family but I became nearly non-functional because of it and the WT. Feeling a lot better now that I'm out.

  Honestly, Would You Have Secretly Taken a Blood Transfusion?

  while i was an active jw elder, i wouldn't have up until that last year.

  that's when i was totally mentally out, just going thru the technicalities.

  i still respect other jw's viewpoints on their not accepting blood----although i think they are terribly misguided.

  When I got pregnant with my first child (about 5 years ago) I made a HUGE deal to the Doctor about NO BLOOD. When I got preganant with my second child (three years later) I did a total 180 on my stance. I asked my Doctor to strike all references to "no blood" from my file. I didn't intend to risk my life or my unborn child's life.

  The Doctor talked to me about it and one of the things she said was "having kids really changes things, doesn't it?"

  Thank God.
