This was very difficult for me as a kid. I used to play football (soccer) and rugby (erm... bit like American football but without the pads, and the ball can only go backwards and..... oh look it up!!! ) There came a time when i was 16 when i had to choose between having a trial at a football club and getting baptised. I chose to get dunked.... I 'could' have been a seasoned international footballer by now, earning the best part of £30,000 a week at least.......famous.....rich........ *** drifts off into a daydream...****

Were you allowed to play sports?
by love11 ini was never allowed to play sports, because it would be too much association with worldly people.
no skating, dance class, racquet ball, softball, nothing.
in my kingdom hall, only the "spiritually weak" played sports.

Me too! Im awful to be around when im watching football tho, my wife hates it. Come the 89th minute and i wont be able to even talk normally! It will just be a series of strange noises, gestures and football jargon. Its sad i know. I keep telling my wife tho- "no more football until August" so she's looking forward to the break.

Aversion to Polo mints
by New Worldly Translation ini don't know if anyone else has this affliction along with an aversion to trebor extra strong mints.
it goes back to my days attending the kingdom hall and taking a packet of mints to suck on and pass the time.
mints being the only food type allowed at meeting time i seem to recall.

Sweets were always more permissable at assemblies. Wine gums were my favourite as a kid. I think my mum gave them to me to keep me awake... how can you NOT doze off on the sunday afternoon!!!!

I though it was a bit quiet in here!!! They are touring the states in the summer, I think with Kasabian and Jet, so things 'should' start happening over there again for them. I read somewhere tho they sold out Maddison Square Gardens in a few hours, so there must be a few fans in the US.
SOTSOG?? Thats controversial! Most people dont like that one! I like them all tho.
I saw them at Knebworth in 1996 along with 125,000 other people so that was pretty amazing. Good lineup too- Bootleg Beatles, Ocean Colour Scene, Manic Street Preachers, Chemical Brothers and Prodigy were the support acts!
Dont Look Back In Anger is a fantastic song to sing in a crowd, must have been great to have so many people around all singing. My favourite Oasis songs tho are Acquiesce and Whatever, I can never grow tired of hearing them.
